Birchbox has a great array of brands and products. It virtually eliminates the need for shopping for cosmetics, skincare, and bath products at brick-and-mortar stores. The loyalty program is fantastic. Birchbox points come with virtually no contingencies and you receive them for writing reviews and making purchases (even when purchasing with points). As a result, I typically use points for more than 50% of my purchases and products are vetted by thousands of users due to the incentives. It's a great system. The original content on the site is also quite good.

I loved this service for a long time, but the quality has gradually decreased over the last year as the subscriber base increases. Sample size seems to have decreased and some of the brands being sent recently are not acceptable for the reputation of Birchbox. Cheap hotel toiletries are bad enough without dodgy Chinese brands popping up. The point system is great so I haven't unsubbed yet, but if I keep throwing away half my box because the quality isn't even with giving away I will eventually.

I started with a Birchbox for myself after I saw a friend post hers on Instagram. Within two months, I had ordered a subscription for my husband (who LOVES it) and my sister-in-law (who also LOVES it). All to say, the samples are great and always carefully selected to fit my profile. The surprise of getting fun mail is great. The discounts and great deals on awesome products are great. The selection and introduction to new products are great. I am a Birchbox fan for life!

Hello, overall I 100% LOVE Birchbox, so I really shouldn't be complaining. It's just so hard to watch the "your box has been shipped" page move so slowly. I wish you would send out that email when the box leaves Fishers, IN...because it always seems to hang out there for 3-4 days.

I love the birchbox system I loved getting a box every month but I wish it was a little bit more customized I rather have tea or hair tye or fancy bobby pins or hair wrap or mini hand towel or a candle or nail polish or body shimmer and bath oil and yoga stuff..stuff to relax .....instead of receiving fragrance ( yogini was my only love) and eye cream and shampoo and conditioner .... I guess I prefer more lifestyle products which I thought birch box was more of.... I prefer a bath product over eye cream. I just gave more stuff away then I got to keep but that's all the surprise system in subscription service you don't get to choose what you get in your box, for the fact to be able to try something you haven't used. But this was a fun experience I'm just going the organic natural vegan route. like I loved the limited edition box free for all I think it was called, like last year or some time ago. It was glorious and I understand the cost can go up if the box was affiliated with those brand and you want it to stay at the ten dollar point that's amazing, thinking about the people and advancing with pick an item and upgrade or pick the entire curated box... It was a great advance in service. Overall I had great service I just did not use 90% of what I received in the two years I have been receiving birchbox.... I will continue to shop birch box cause their online shop is phenomenal and accumulate some points... Thanks for the great service until I decide to sign up for boxes again...

I have never had a negative experience with Birchbox, every time I've reached out for help they've answered my inquiries as quickly as possible and helped work out any hiccups. I have recommended the service to many, many friends and family. My only issue is that their new shipping service is a lot slower than it used to be. In terms of their whole customer service, however, I think that's a relatively small issue. In addition, I have found many of my long-term favorites through them. One suggestion I have is to offer vegan and cruelty-free options through their boxes (though I know many brands they offer meet that criteria). I've recently decided that I want to move that way exclusively in my makeup and skincare. I'd love to see Birchbox offer a monthly box that caters to that interest.

I have been a Birchbox subscriber for over three years but when my subscription ends in December I will not be renewing. I like the wide variety of products that they have in the shop but I am constantly getting samples that are inappropriate for my skin type and coloring. Also, I get way to many shampoo and conditioner samples. In 2014, I received shampoo and conditioner in 9 out of my 12 boxes. That is too many. They do have awesome limited edition boxes that they release every few months and their customer service is stellar. I don't recommend a monthly subscription but do recommend the Birchbox shop.

The products are usually deluxe sized samples, with the occasional full size eyeliner or lip product. Personally I don't like receiving the eyeliner, cause it's something I use infrequently. I do like discovering new brands, and I think it's great that they have so much more than just makeup. I buy my teas almost exclusively from Birchbox now. My absolute favorite thing is that I can buy full sized versions of the products I've sampled, as well as some I may not have by the same brand. I get discounts with the points I earn shopping the site or reviewing my samples. Not to mention the gift with purchase promo codes they generally have, free mystery sample pack when you spend $35+, and very reasonable shipping. I do wish there were better perks to being an ACE. Also, the subscription boxes seem to take a long time arriving. So if I could change a few things I'd want faster shipping, more/better perks for ACES, no more than 2 eyeliner samples a year, and maybe no perfume samples in summer months. I like being outdoors and summer is the worst time for perfumes.
