Wish I could give zero stars! It used to be great for paying rent since the changes it’s horrible. I sent a rent payment and had the new bilt card as the payment source like I have done four years in the past. My rent payment was returned because my bank account was not connected to the build app so it looks like you’re paying with your card when all the actuality they are taking it from your bank account if I would’ve known that, I would’ve had the bank account connected so over $100 and fees for no reason when I had the cash I could’ve paid directly to my landlord. also, there’s no way to get a hold of customer service except through a text message and I’ve been in the queue for over four hours waiting to talk to somebody. Stay clear of this company.

I am extremely frustrated with the new…
I am extremely frustrated with the new Bilt 2.0. I originally got this card to make rent payments so that I could receive the credit score benefits and pay off the credit card balance later that month from my checking account. The new Bilt 2.0 no longer allows you to make rent payments with your credit line and instead, it pulls the payment from your linked checking account. When I contacted support, they said that the only resolution is to connect a different third party credit card to your account to use the credit line from another account instead. That completely defeats the purpose of me having a credit line through Bilt. They need to go back to letting us use this card to make rent payments. This was a highly frustrating and disappointing experience.

I absolutely loved Bilt when it was…
I absolutely loved Bilt when it was managed under a Wells Fargo card. You could pay your rent with your credit card at no fee a week to two weeks sometimes before your paycheck. You can actually utilize the credit on your credit card. With the new change over, you can't use any of your credit line, all rent payments are auto debited from your checking account within 24 hours. Completely defeats the purpose of ever getting this card or the app. Bilt needs to return the ability to pay rent with your open credit line immediately.

$495 for a Metal Brick: The Disastrous Cardless-Bilt Palladium Launch
I am writing this to warn anyone considering the Bilt Palladium card issued by Column N.A. and serviced by Cardless Inc. I applied and was approved in early February 2026, receiving my card on February 2nd. What followed has been the single worst "premium" banking experience I have ever encountered.
The Timeline of Failure:
Feb 4: Before the official launch, Bilt / Cardless restricted my card for "unusual activity" before I even had the chance to use it.
Feb 7 (Launch Day): Tried to activate the card. I received a "Failed to activate" error. I opened my first support ticket immediately.
Feb 7–15: Multiple phone calls and emails. Cardless Support admitted to a "mass technical failure" but provided no timeline for a fix.
Feb 16–Present: The error message changed to "Invalid CVC," making the card a literal paperweight. I cannot use the digital wallet, the physical card, or access the benefits I am paying for.
After a few days of trying to activate the card it went back to the "Failed to activate" error.
Broken Promises and Missing Benefits:
Despite paying a $495 annual fee, I have been denied every advertised benefit of this tier:
Expired Promotions: Due to their technical lockout, I missed the deadlines for the 5X Activation Offer and the Digital Wallet 3 day activation boost bonus.
The worst part is the 90 day time window I have to meet the SUB are already counting since February 7th.
Zero Accountability: I have contacted Cardless support over 10 times via phone, email, and chat. I have spoken to nearly a dozen different representatives. Every single time, I am told it is being "escalated" and to "keep waiting."
The Verdict:
Bilt / Cardless launched a "premium" product without the infrastructure to support it. They are happy to charge a high annual fee but are seemingly incapable of providing a functional credit card or basic customer service. As of February 24, nearly three weeks after receiving the card, it remains a brick. I smell a class action lawsuit coming soon....
The worst part is that if I cancel my credit card now my credit score has already taken a hit due to the hard pull it received when I applied for the card, and to make matters worst Bilt/Cardless have not offered me any kind of compensation, being bilt points, bilt cash or a $495 statement credit.
If you value your time and expect a high-end card to actually work, stay far away from the Bilt Palladium issued by Column N.A. and serviced by Cardless Inc. They have held my credit line and my money hostage with zero resolution in sight.

Never heard anyone actually "winning" a free rent.
I don't understand what this app is for honesty! We were forced to download the app to receive "rewards" if we pay rent on time. But I haven't received any when I always pay my rent on time even before the app. The free rent is ridiculous because I've never heard anyone actually "winning" a free rent.

Worst customer service experience
Worst customer service experience. There’s no way to speak with a live representative, and the support options are extremely limited. I waited four minutes to connect to live chat, responded within five minutes, and the chat was already closed. Very frustrating and disappointing.

Money grab and poor service
Well, it finally happened. Bilt upgraded and started to charge for the card. Now their customer service is absolute crap. Anyone who "upgraded" just lost all their statements for 2025. Trying to do your taxes? Need your statements? You're crap out of luck. They are sending folks to Wells Fargo and saying "Good Luck" trying to get your statements. I have never been so bewildered by the lack of accountability from a credit card company. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. I predict bankruptcy in it's future.
