The company ended their relationship with Wella Fargo and so all card holders had to transition elsewhere. They canceled my automatic rent payment and I was subsequently charged a late fee. I asked them to send my new card to a temporary address (the one I pay rent on through them) and it took 3 total phone calls and interactions for them to send it to the right address. They want a selfie of you holding the state id and a photo of the id eben after I specifically updated the shipping address in the app. You also wait on hold for forever before speaking to someone. The app is always glitching and taked forever to load. Only advantage is getting points on rent which no one else offers. But you can no longer use a line of credit for rent. Definitely gone downhill since I became a member a few years ago.

I’d give them 0 stars if I could
I’d give them 0 stars if I could. Typical Wells Fargo bs: we offer something nice then flip the switch once you’ve become a reliable customer. Forget about getting in touch with a live agent. This is probably what the fyre fest people felt like. Bilt was a great concept but turned into a scam.

The worst customer service I have ever seen
The worst customer service I have ever experienced. My application was "under review" for over a month and every time I called or emailed they were unhelpful but said they would "escalate" it and, of course, nothing came of it. Eventually they just cancelled my application and told me to reapply for a THIRD time. I have great credit and was a Bilt 1.0 holder and fan. Never engaging with this again - literally wasted hours of my life

A real nightmare
Less than zero. Bilt extracted double rent payment from my account and as of today has not corrected their error.I have made multiple attempts to reach a live person with no success.I have sent a dispute letter. I have made multiple attempts to contact them with no success. My leasing office refuses to help me and identifies bilt as a third partydespite the requirement to process rent through bilt. I have contacted the BBB and the legal aid society. To date BILT has not responded to the BBB. What a terrible way to treat people! It seems legal action is my only recourse.

If I could give this card negative…
If I could give this card negative stars, I would. The only reason that I got the card in the first place was because I was able to use it as a credit card without fees to pay my rent, which gave me some financial freedom for the rest of the month. I see no point in using this complicated new system that I don’t understand that doesn’t give me any benefits at all with paying my rent.

Extremely Disappointed with Bilt Card 2.0 – Misleading Marketing and Broken Trust
I was a loyal user of Bilt Card 1.0 when it partnered with Wells Fargo. At that time, the experience was smooth and transparent. I used the card to pay my apartment rent every month, and it worked exactly like a normal credit card — I had the standard billing cycle and about 30 days of float before paying the bill. It was simple and reliable.
Because of that positive experience, I was actually excited when Bilt launched the new 2.0 version. I trusted the company and upgraded to the new Blue card (the no-annual-fee version) without hesitation.
The marketing around Bilt 2.0 repeatedly suggested that you could use the card to pay your mortgage, which sounded like a huge benefit. Naturally, I tried it.
But what happened next was extremely disappointing. After I used the card to pay my mortgage, Bilt withdrew the full mortgage amount directly from my linked ACH bank account within 24 hours — without any clear warning or notification.
This completely defeated the purpose of using a credit card. There was no billing cycle, no float period, and no transparency beforehand about how the payment actually works.
More importantly, it disrupted my monthly cash flow planning, because I expected the payment to follow a normal credit card billing schedule.
To me, this feels like misleading marketing. Bilt heavily promotes the idea that you can “pay your mortgage with the card,” but fails to clearly explain that the money will be pulled almost immediately from your bank account.
That’s not a credit card experience — it’s basically acting like a pass-through payment processor, and that critical detail was never clearly communicated.
As a former loyal user, this experience completely destroyed my trust in the company.
On top of that, the new points-earning rules in Bilt 2.0 have become unnecessarily complicated and confusing. What used to be a simple, user-friendly product now feels overly engineered and difficult to understand.Honestly, since the 2.0 launch, the product feels more like a marketing gimmick than a genuinely trustworthy financial product.
I never expected to feel this way about a company I used to recommend to others.
If you're considering this card, please read the fine print carefully and understand how their payment system actually works.
I hope my experience can help others avoid the same disappointment.

The new bilt 2.0 is so stupid
The new bilt 2.0 is so stupid. They make you spend more just so you can get the 1:1 points on your housing/rent payment. When it was with Wells Fargo you got that anyways with the caveat of needing 5 transactions (no minimum). So stupid, bring back the old agreement. Now you only get 250 points and have to spend a crazy amount just to get the points you got before.

This card has turned to absolute crap
This card has turned to absolute crap. They were not clear about the new rules and made everything very complicated. You cannot float your rent anymore which is one of the only reasons to have this card. Way to turn a good thing into an absolute disaster!
