Unforeseen complication
I have been a long time user of Beta Glucans 500mg for over 10 years. Recently I was exposed to a virus that went bacterial on me & my immune system went after it in Autoimmune mode. I have never experienced my own body attaching me before. Needless to say I ended up at my doctors office & immediately got a huge butt dose of antibiotics, 10 days worth of Penn VK & finally a steroid for 5 days. I'm finally getting almost back to normal. However, it would have been good if I had been informed that an immune modulator like Beta Glucans can be taken for too long & can set you up for such an occurrence. How long should I be off of them. Is there a blood test of something that my physician can order? I thought I was doing something good, but it can go out of control. I would appreciate more info on this subject, because I am at a loss as to how to proceed.

Hello Joyce. Thank you for your feedback and your questions regarding Beta Glucan. It was great you were able to speak with Zach and go over some of the more personal details of your situation. What we can say about Beta Glucan is that it safe, and it is an immunomodulator which means it modulates your immune system without causing overstimulation. In regards to auto immune conditions, we always will refer you to speak to your healthcare provider for advice. Feel free to reach out anytime with concerns or questions. We appreciate you.
