My cat had eye and ear infections
My cat had eye and ear infections. I was able to get her seen quickly. She is very anxious by nature and freaking out no matter how sweet and gentle they were. I was given med to calm her and made an appt for the next day. Much calmer but still put up a fuss. Was able to be examined and treated. Treatment fit both our needs as I’m in a wheelchair and can’t catch her to give meds, etc. both infections are better and going away.

Thrilled to know she's on the mend!

After canceling I received a bill for…
After canceling I received a bill for unclear charges. I had never received a copy of the agreement I agreed to when signing up and had nothing to refer back to. I canceled my service due to finding out after I signed up that I was not in their service area. But the website had asked for my zip code and said I was in their service area. This company is not transparent with their business practices. They are also not willing to communicate in a respectful and civil manner. The use of the Exclamation punctuation in e mail communications gives clear indication of their irritation and disrespect. They said you could cancel at anytime. That is true but they do not tell you that if you cancel before the end date of your membership they back charge you for the visits that you have had and raise the cost to out of membership costs and auto deduct it from your account. Red flag this company. Their lack of transparency and unwillingness to provide a copy of the agreement signed indicates shady and maybe dishonest business practices.

Incredibly shady business practices
Incredibly shady business practices. There is no way to cancel membership on the app and requests to do so result in the customer being passed around within departments with zero resolution. This company has never seen my pet. I became ill and canceled before the first visit, and yet today, I’ve been told that I have been “mistakenly” billed in advance for January membership services - that I never signed up for. I shouldn’t have been billed at all!

Caution
Caution: Approach BetterVet Mobile Vet services with extreme care. I had a disturbing experience with this service that compels me to share a word of warning. In my haste, I decided to use BetterVet for a crucial need — obtaining calming medicine for my cats before a 4-hour flight to our new home. The initial phone conversation left me under the impression that I would only be charged for one cat, totaling $200, as both would be administered the same calming medicine. I proceeded to book an appointment for just one cat.
The next day, a call from Brooklyn, New York, caught my attention. Despite ignoring it, a voicemail confirmed it was the assigned vet and claimed they needed to charge for both cats, contradicting the prior agreement. To further pressure me, the vet sent a text insisting on seeing both cats. I declined, only to receive subsequent messages attempting to coerce me into having both cats examined.
Alarming was the vet's assertion that providing calming medication to my other cat independently was illegal and would result in legal consequences unless I paid the full $330. This was an outrageous claim, considering one bottle of medication could ostensibly be used for multiple cats. Disturbed by the unprofessional conduct, I promptly blocked the vet and closed my account.
Upon investigation, I discovered concerning information about BetterVet's practices, including suspicions of fabricated positive reviews acquired through dubious means. It appears the company might be engaging in purchasing online reviews to boost its reputation.
In light of my distressing encounter and the questionable integrity of their reviews, I strongly advise against trusting BetterVet Mobile Vet services with the well-being of your pets. Exercise caution and refrain from parting with any money to ensure the safety and care of your beloved animals.

Very Disorganized
I made a first appointment and asked for a specific vet, who had been here twice before when she worked for a different service. My cats were so comfortable with her. The appointment was scheduled for almost 2 weeks in advance. The day before the appointment, the vet contacted me about what time I should give my cat gabapentin – she was having blood drawn and needs the sedation.
An hour after she contacted me, my appointment was canceled via a canned email. No explanation as to why, but it mentioned calling to reschedule and offered a $50 off coupon for the hassle. The following day I did that. I confirmed an appointment over the phone and, moments later, received a text, saying someone would be calling because my appointment couldn’t be confirmed. I called back after a few hours because no one called me. I got another appointment scheduled for the following week.
In the meantime, I was asked to send records, which I did, via email. I received a message saying that the emails were empty – – my files weren’t showing up. But when I opened the messages, the PDFs were all there. I resent them and asked if they received them, but never got an answer. Didn’t matter anyway because, by then, my third appointment had an issue. I received an email saying that it couldn’t confirm because I hadn’t filled out the payment information on their website. There was no way I was planning to pay ahead of time, especially with all of the problems I was having keeping an appointment with them. I called again and they couldn’t figure out why I would need to pay ahead of time because that’s not a requirement. I have never not paid a vet bill and I have good credit so there shouldn’t have been a problem.
I began to feel like it was deliberate. I started to feel like the vet, who had been here before, didn’t want to come back for some reason.
So I actually made a fourth appointment, but didn’t ask for her specifically. Everything went without a hitch on the phone and I picked a window of time from 4 to 7. But then I got the confirmation email with a time of 12 to 4. I had given it enough tries, and I decided that if this is how it goes on the administrative side, what kind of treatment is my pet going to have? Three tries would’ve been enough. I gave it four. I’m taking my business elsewhere.
I asked who to complain to after the second issue and was told I would get a form to fill out, sent via email. That never happened. They also said a liaison would call me. Never happened. After the third time I was told a liaison would contact me. Again, never happened. When I called after the fourth mishap, I was told a liaison would contact me. Guess what? It never happened. So, since you don’t seem to have anywhere to make complaints, I’m making it public here.

Shawn Marie, we're truly sorry to read about the disorganization and frustration you've experienced with scheduling appointments and communication mishaps. This is far from the seamless and supportive experience we aim to provide at BetterVet. Your patience and willingness to give us multiple chances are greatly appreciated, and we deeply regret not meeting your expectations.
The issues you've encountered with appointment scheduling, communication, and administrative processes are concerning and not reflective of our standards. We take your feedback seriously and will use it as a catalyst for immediate improvements in our systems and processes to ensure no one else has a similar experience.
We understand your decision to seek services elsewhere, but we would welcome any opportunity to discuss your experience further and see if there's anything we can do to rectify the situation. Your feedback is invaluable for us to make necessary changes and improvements.

This is a total scam
This is a total scam. Do not do it! I explicitly said no to any of their "plan"s and just wanted a single visit, but it signed me up anyway for the "family plan" and recurring charges. I didn't even use their services because I decided I needed to take my dog to urgent care. They also hide in their "terms and conditions" that you agree to make them your animal's primary care provider and are agreeing to transfer all of your pet's files and documentation to them. Like hell I'm doing that! They didn't even provide me any services!! Stay away!!
Response from BetterVetFeb 16, 2024
