I’ve always loved BetterMed because…
I’ve always loved BetterMed because they are very good about getting you in and out. I still got in and out when I visited there last week. I knew I had the flu because I had been with my mom who had been diagnosed with it. I had the same symptoms and felt horrible. I wanted a prescription for Tamiflu so that my symptoms could at least lessen. I know it doesn’t take it away. The doctor informed me that I indeed had the flu and that he doesn’t prescribe the rx because it only takes away 12 hours and you’re still contagious during that time. I know several people who did have their symptoms lessened with the Tamiflu. Every person is different, and in light of all the sickness going around right now, I feel I should’ve gotten this rx. So I went there knowing I had the flu and walked out the door knowing the same thing. All the things discussed in the room with the doctor I also already knew before I went there. My copay is $60 and if I wanted to go somewhere else to get an rx I had to pay another $60. I thought it was ridiculous. The dr also told me that I couldn’t go help my mom (age 73 with cancer and the flu) if she needed me. If we both already had the flu what difference did it make? It would’ve been different if she didn’t have the flu. I’m one of two caregivers for her and the other one had to go back to work since we had our mom at the VCU ER for 26 hours prior to my visit to BetterMed. Anyway, I’m just aggravated. It’s the first problem I’ve ever had there and I’ll go back again, but not if I have the flu.
