Hi Dionne, we advertise fees in the exact same manner as all of our competitors which are as follows: - Formation Company Fee - State Filing Fee On every page that we display our pricing, we show both with the added ability to select your state so you can see their fee alongside ours. In addition to that, on the payment page we show very clearly the line item for each charge at the very top along with the total you're paying so there should have been absolutely zero confusion in this matter. EDIT: After digging deeper, I see that you are a Registered Agent subscriber only and didn't form your business with us which means you would have paid $90/year for this service. I'm not sure where the $300 you mention is coming from, while that is the state filing fee cost for an LLC in Texas, you did not buy that service from us. Chad Sakonchick Founder

Hi RR, while I understand and sympathize to why you're upset, BetterLegal is definitely not a scam and is an inappropriate claim to make. I can't see your name and you didn't list your business so we have no way to look up or verify your issues, but you can DM me personally on Linkedin and I'll make sure you're taken care of. I can see however that you're from France and so my immediate assumption is that you got stuck in the IRS' ITIN to EIN issue. While any non-US citizen can open an LLC, the US government wants to make sure you're not laundering money for terrorism or drugs so they require you go through an extra process to get a US equivalent of a Social Security Number, this is called an ITIN. Once you have your ITIN, you can get an EIN, but sadly the US is not the most efficient with this. So while I understand that you're upset, it is the IRS creating this bottleneck, not us. LIke I said, we're more than happy to help you and make sure you're taken care of, but do also understand we work on US business hours, so if you're trying to get us outside of that, there might be some delays. Hey Genevieve, I'm very sorry you are having this experience, sadly we have no control or visibility into the IRS' processes. At the time of this reply, we have done this over 15k times and seemingly at random, the IRS tells us the standard information isn't good enough and forces us into this extra process with an unnamed return time. Unfortunately, the IRS doesn't have any place that allows us to contact a person, nor do they ever explain what went wrong when this happens. This is a fake review. Chad (me) rarely interfaces with customers directly, instead I focus on development and marketing. When I do interact with customers, I know each situation intimately. There is no Frank that we've interacted with on any LLCs in over 4 months since the time of writing this. This review was written by Jon Prusheik under a fake email address (see below one star review) because we wouldn't engage in an illegal task that he requested of us. We reported this review to Trustpilot, but since we choose not to pay $300-$500 a month (billed annually at $3500-$5000) after their recurring calls and emails, they're not abiding by their own policies. We've provided Trustpilot plenty of evidence of this review being fake, but alas.

Jon, I find this review highly inappropriate and factually incorrect. You have received 100% of the filings and documents we promised to deliver. You have talked to multiple members of the company about this and we have explained the situation to you ad nauseam. When you filed for your LLC, the government was in a complete shutdown minus essential services. The IRS deemed creating EINs via the web interface (instant processing) a non-essential service. We had zero control over that. We asked our customers during this time period whether they would rather us wait for the instant EIN web service to be available again, or file the SS-4 form via fax (warning everyone that this process takes weeks and likely more than a month in this special situation). You said your timeline was very lax and chose the fax option. Once we received the fax back from the IRS, we forwarded to you and BetterLegal was 100% complete with this LLC for you. The faxed document you received was an official IRS document, full stop. I'm sorry that the bankers you chose to engage with don't think so, but the IRS who processes thousands upon thousands of these every month via fax deem them very real and very official. We then explained to you that if you want to receive a mailed version of the document, that you would have to call yourself as the business owner. To rephrase, the IRS *requires* the business owner to call on their own behalf and verify their personal information to request this document. We could call on your behalf as you have suggested, but that would be illegal. We have explained the above to you several times. My business partner, myself, nor any of our team members are going to risk fraud with the IRS just because you lob a threat to us via your last email stating "Can you please just fulfill your promise or do i really have to report the company and write reviews all over the internet?" I wish you luck in your and your business' future endeavors, but please do not use our service again. - Chad Sakonchick, BetterLegal Founder
