This tool gives conventional bike fit measures. I guess the measures are OK if you are looking for this. This is tipically the case for road bikes. However, more recent MTBs tend to departure from these conventional fit measures as they have more relaxed geometries, encouraging riders to adopt a more upright posture. If you have an MTB with this type of geometry, then you may have troubles to incorporate the recommendations of this tool.

Our bike fit is for all road and mtb bikes where you want to optimize your position for cycling while seated (most of the time). I do not believe in a general “trend” for all riders as you imply. The bike fit should match with the cycling goals and level of the cyclist. If you want to go fast on not so technical trails, the ideal bike fit will be different compared to someone who looks for thrills on technically challenging trails. Therefore we ask for your cycling priorities and advice a back angle accordingly. So for example, if you want to optimize for cornering, you will get a more upright (relaxed) position. Additionally you can finetune the bike fit to your liking by changing the back angle as relaxed as you want. Our bike fit is not for riding styles where you are out of the saddle for most of the time (downhill, bmx, etc.). These bikes require a completely different bike fit approach.

Was it worth £20, ,possibly not. From my measurements the algorithms said I need a large frame - which I know I don't! I know the site will say, you have inputted incorrect data, but I haven't
Response from Best Bike AdviceOct 25, 2021
Dear customer. I do believe you entered the data correctly. The problem is that you think you know what your frame size is based on the wrong information. Please read our article https://bestbikeadvice.com/road-frame-size/ for a detailed explanation. You should not select a frame size based on your height or leg length! Especially for you this will result in the wrong bike size. Your torso length is approximately 5 cm longer than average for someone of your height. In other words, your torso length corresponds with the average torso length of someone that is 190 cm tall. Therefore the frame size you need is similar to that of someone of 190cm. On most bikes the saddle can be adjusted many cm, but the handlebar position has a limited adjustment range.

Results of bike fit is rubbish
Response from Best Bike AdviceOct 23, 2021
Dear customer, I will reach out directly to help you with your bike fit. The bike fit you received clearly states that you made some errors in your self measurements. And you overruled our back angel advice to a very extreme angle. With bad input the bike fit will be rubbish as well. I will help you to improve your input so that you will get a propper bike fit.
