I ordered a rug, it arrived quickly. I made several attempts to contact them before a reply was received. When asking to return it, they said it would cost the equivalent of $500 Aus in postage, which is 1/3 of the cost of the rug. I am devastated as the website suggests that return are easy. I spent so much time on the website choosing what i thought was the right rug, and now I regret making the purchase. Now reading that other people had the same experience, i'm very disappointed.

Please be aware that this company does not adhere to its Return Policy. I followed the procedures according to the policy and I was charged $700 for the postage of returning the rug. This was not made clear to me. Beautiful rugs, but make sure your selection is right! Very unhappy customer.

Purchased a vintage rug from this disgraceful company - the dimensions stated on the website were 214x136cms. When it was received the rug was not rectangular as the true measurements are 214x146x214x126cms. A variance of 20cms in the width and they were intentionally deceitful by taking the average! It looks like an a-line skirt! I approached them via email asking them to arrange a return at their expense, was ignored for a week until I contacted them on Instagram and ever since there has been back and forth communication where they won’t accept any responsibility. Now they are telling me I’m not entitled to return the rug at all despite what their website says about returns (but I can see I’m not the only one who’s had that problem!). Rug also smells like manure which is most unpleasant. I don’t trust any of the positive reviews and I truly doubt they have sold hundreds of thousands of rugs. COMPLETE SCAMMERS! UPDATE: After my one star review, the company replied asking for more information. As if the 20+ emails to their ‘customer care manager’ wasn’t enough.

I ordered a vintage rug that cost over $1,000. There were some small defects when it arrived which I thought were acceptable as it was vintage. However, within a month those parts of the rug had totally disintegrated and it now has big holes on one side of it with bits of the rug breaking off. I can only assume it was cleaned with some chemical that made it fall apart. Despite sending photos, customer services have said they cannot help because I did not return it within 14 days. Please beware!

Beware of this company. Misleading wording on website left me hundreds of pounds out of pocket. I bought a large rug from benisouk. One of the most expensive purchases I've ever made for my home. The wording beneath the rug purchase page stated 'you can return your item for a full refund within 14 days of receipt of the item'. I contacted benisouk immediately when the rug arrived as the item appeared shabbier and less vibrant than the photos. The company stated they only refund faulty items and refused to acknowledge the misleading wording. I offered to pay full return postage and they would then have been able to sell the rug again. However they refused to accept the return and I'm left with a rug i can't use and a lot less money. I would not encourage people to risk purchasing a rug from this company which they will only be able to view online and unable to return if they aren't happy with it.

I had a terrible 4-month long saga with Benisouk and I honestly don't know if they a scam or not, but if they are genuine then they have some serious problems with their operations and customer service. I ordered a "custom made to order" runner at the beginning of January. It was a big purchase to make without knowing the site but they had plenty of positive reviews. They proceeded to send me automated "updates" about the progress of the rug being woven and finally they said it was complete and on the way to their warehouse. After not hearing whether it had shipped yet, I followed up and the excuses began. First, there is restricted movement to the Atlas mountains and so the rug had not arrived yet. Fair enough. 2 weeks go by. Then, it had arrived but needed some final quality control measures. They told me to "be a little more patient". OK, fine. Another 2 weeks and I was getting suspicious. I told them if I didn't get a shipping confirmation in the next week I would issue a credit card chargeback. They then told me the rug actually hadn't arrived at their warehouse, that they had made a 'mistake', but that it would arrive within 2 weeks. Apparently it had been raining a lot in Morrocco so the rug hadn't dried yet. This could be true, but why not tell me that earlier? Another 2 weeks went by and nothing, so I requested to cancel my order. They then tell me the rug has arrived! But unfortunately the 'artisan' had woven it 2 metres too short, so they had to send it back to be re-woven. But if I didn't want to wait I can choose another rug from their selection on the site. I said I didn't want to do that and requested a refund, which they finally granted me, after exchanging no less than 19 emails with them. I'm so disappointed. They are certainly good at marketing, and I'm guessing they probably have some rugs in stock, but when it comes to custom orders I would stay far, far away.

Ordered a rug 3 months ago. Still hasn’t arrived. I’ve spent over 3k with this company but the latest rug has been a disaster. Enquired about my rug a month after it was ordered, apparently it’s one of kind so needed to be be made, how was a photo of it on the website then? Took another 2 months to finally say it’s on its way and then asked me if I still want it shipped. Yes it’s been 3 months, I obviously want it shipped. They said it would be here within 2 weeks , 2 weeks ago. Still no rug.
