Buyer beware. Fraudulent company and purchase. Ordered 1st April with a 3-5 business day shipping promise. Followed up. No replies.

I've since come to realise my experience is identical to dozens of others, making me wish I had read reviews prior to falling for the glitzy website. The rug I bought was returned to Benisouk well within the 14 day returns window, and FEDEX has even said it was delivered. But according to Benisouk it is apparently 'stuck in customs'. Benisouk provide no proof of this, no evidence of any communication with customs, constant reassurances that they are 'working hard' to retrieve it from customs, but now six months in, I hold zero hope of ever receiving a refund for this and now they are not returning my emails. Benisouk states that we should use their own 'authorised' returns company, to guarantee delivery, but this is ludicrous. They quote you virtually the price of the rug to return it. I got a quote from the same company at a fraction of the cost of the return that they quoted me. Naturally I pursued that route. Now there is nothing to show for it. If you are thinking of purchasing any product with this company - spend a moment reviewing all the 1 star reviews first, and then draw your own conclusions.

Firstly, I would like to acknowledge the high quality of the products we have received from Benisouk, including one of the rugs from our most recent purchase. If there wasn't an issue with one of the rugs, we would have been singing their praises! This positive experience amplifies our disappointment with the issue at hand. The rug in question, a black and white Mrirt rug, exhibits a pronounced stripe of discolouration. This defect significantly detracts from its aesthetic appeal and overall quality. It has taken three attempts to get a response from Benisouk. We have now received a response indicating that this marking was a result of sunlight exposure during the drying process – are they saying it is not a defect? It clearly is. At no point during the purchasing process were we informed that such variations could arise due to the drying process. Had this been communicated, we would not have bought the rugs. Why would anyone spend a lot of money on a sun-damaged rug? Given the premium price and Benisouk's reputation for quality, such a conspicuous imperfection is unacceptable. It undermines the value and enjoyment of the rug. The lack of communication from the customer service team has been appalling - for a company that prides itself on quality, there is an issue here. They still haven't replied to me regarding my last email.

Warning! This company is a scam. I purchase $1,980 for rugs on February 24, 2023 that were supposed to be delivered in 3-5 business days. It is May 8, 2023 and I never received anything, and the company refuses to respond. Please be careful, DO NOT BUY!

I ordered $1,980 worth of rugs (3 rugs) and the company never sent them. They took my money and won't respond to any of my communication. It has been over a month (40 days since purchase). Updating in reply to their response. This is a total lie. I certainly never agreed to pay any Customs fees. They said "free shipping and arrival in 3-5 business days (that was on Feb. 24). I would have never agreed to dealing with Customs but have contacted them and they have told me that textiles of more than $1,000 cannot be shipped from outside of the country. There is no way I am able to get them out. How can Benisouk take my money for something they never were going to be able to deliver on. If benisouk wanted to help, as they've suggested below, they would respond to any of my emails and/or refund my money, since I will never receive the product. Benisouk never has the ability to deliver on this sale. BUYER PLEASE BE WARNED. Benisouk.com is a scam and crook.

The dye bleeds and the rugs fade over time. If you research the traditional way Moroccan rugs are made this is not supposed to happen.

I bought a small rug from Benisouk (around 4 by 6) about 3 months ago and received an email from them last week saying they'd give me a free pillow if I wrote a review here. So first off, be aware that some of the reviews you see on this site may have been written to get free pillows. The rug looked exactly like the site photo so I was happy initially but pretty quickly, I realized there's something that's make this rug different from the other Beni Ourains I own-- it's much thinner, more like a blanket than a rug and never stays in place, moves around constantly and has to be repositioned frequently. I don't know much about rugs but I'm pretty sure the issue is the amount of threads or knots per inch and I don't know if the rugs sold here vary in this quality but I would recommend finding out and comparing with other rugs before purchasing. Since the rug is good looking, I would have given 2 stars but I'm deducting one for the attempted bribe.

Fraudulent Company! Buy from somewhere else as it's not worth the risk that you will end up with a damaged rug that they will then charge you $1000 to cover return fees. I bought a vintage rug and it is clearly water damaged (discolouration covering 1/3 of the top and underside of the rug) and badly stretched out in the water damaged section leaving large bumps across the rug and it won't flatten out. Did not look like the images AT ALL. The photographs are professional images and the colours have been enhanced and any damage hidden. After sending photographs to the contact email and detailing the damage they informed me that water damage is simply viewed as a normal imperfection in their vintage rugs. They have since told me that in order to return the water damaged rug I will need to pay $1000 (Australian dollars) in postage fees. They will assuredly reply to this with a generic reply below stating that imperfections are normal in their vintage rugs and that this makes them unique and one of a kind. So unless you want a uniquely water damaged rug don't buy from this company! If you are not willing to risk your money on buying a water damaged rug that can't be returned without having to pay almost the cost of the rug in the first place....buy somewhere else. Massive BUYER BEWARE!!!
