My experience with Belite Weight was a positive one. I contacted them and within days I was on a plane to El Paso. I did go by myself since my friend had just went by herself 2 months earlier and she had a great experience. I was surprised that the hospital was so nice and clean. It is cleaner than some of the hospitals I have been in here in the states. The staff is so nice. The nurses speak English but the aides do not but I did not find that to be a problem. I arrived at the hospital at 9 am and by 5 pm I was in surgery after blood work and EKG. in 2 months I have lost 37 pounds, the swelling behind my eyes from Diabetes has disappeared. I can tell you I would do it again in a minute. I think I would take someone with me but only for company, not because I was scared. I definitely recommend Belite Weight to my friends.

The absolute best experience
The absolute best experience. Belite made it so easy to get my life changing and life saving surgery! I wouldn't have done it any other way. Dr.Umbach in Vegas was outstanding. Top notch, leading surgeon that couldn't have done a better job. Very easy recovery, up and walking around Vegas the next day and amazing post op care. The IV therapy was awesome. Lejla who was my patient coordinator through Belite was the BEST. Always helpful and there for me and answered all my questions clearly and willingly. I can't recommend this program enough. Thank you guys for all your help!!!

Very pleased with my results. I was a bit concerned about traveling afar for surgery, but it's turning out to be one of the best decisions that I've made in a while. Another shot at life... lighter & healthier! 5 weeks out & 40lbs down!!!

Excellent experience! Facilitators are very knowledgeable and there for you even after the surgery for any questions you might have. The surgery team at the US embassy hospital in Juarez MX is the absolute best! I would give everyone 10 stars!!!

The entire process went very smoothly
The entire process went very smoothly, from scheduling the surgery to the post surgery drive back to the airport. Everyone was very nice and treated myself and my daughter with great care. Some things operated a little differently in Mexico than they do in the States, which caused a little bit of anxiety. On my first day there, I went down immediately for blood work, but they said it was too late for the EEG. However, they came up to my room around 8:30 pm and then performed the test. I also had my post surgery swallow test around 10:30 pm the night after surgery which I found odd. In the States they would have waited for regular business hours, so it was nice that there weren't any guidelines on when tests can be run. I was expecting to have a scheduled surgery time so that I could keep my husband informed (who was back home in the states with the rest of our children), but it doesn't work that way. The doctor's make there rounds (around 9:30am) and talk with all of the patients. They start the surgeries after these meetings, but still don't have a timeframe as to when your surgery might occur. They come and get you for pre-op when they decide that it is your turn. I waited around all day and finally went down for surgery around 3pm. The nurses had asked me to get up at 5am and take a shower if I wanted to before the surgery because they were going to start my IV at 6am. I thought that my surgery would be shortly after that, so to wait around with anticipation for 9 hours became very nerve racking and my anxiety level shot way up. My blood pressure actually increased significantly due to the anxiety. I wish I would have known ahead of time that this situation would occur so that I could have prepared for it mentally. Other than that, everything else was absolutely wonderful. I would recommend BeLiteWeight to anyone considering surgery in Mexico.

I felt cared for.
I would highly recommend BeLiteWeight. My husband and I proceeded with them having done our research, though still having some hesitations about the whole process. We had nothing to worry about. They are patient facilitators who kept us informed every step of the way of all the arrangements and procedures and answered any questions we had as well. Even after arriving home, they checked in on me two times in the first week and a half inviting me to call them if I had any issues or questions. They made me feel cared about and helped me stay alert to any potential signs of a problem.
My experience once we arrived in Juarez, Mexico went very smoothly. Our shuttle driver called our cell phone when we landed and directed us to our ride. He escorted us into the hospital and hand delivered us to admissions where we were greeted by name and welcomed.
The director explained everything in detail of my procedure while simultaneously being admitted and prepped for the pre-op tests. A very warm, kind and informative man. He also explained that after pre-op tests, I could get back in my street clothes and they would escort us to any restaurant we wanted to go to and would pick us up to go back to the hospital, or we could choose to eat in the hospital. That was a nice surprise, my husband and I had a wonderful organic/gourmet meal in a wonderful restaurant across from the hospital! Everyone was absolutely wonderful!
On the morning of surgery I was a nervous wreck. But as each Doctor came in to introduce themselves and explain the procedure my anxiety level calmed. My favorite was the kind, beautiful anesthesiologist. She was amazing and gave me the confidence I needed, afterall, she's the one in control of making sure I would wake up!
One has to mention the multitude of attentive nurses and other professionals always making sure you have everything you need, they were amazing and delightful.
The doctors visited me everyday, I received counseling by a professional and given a direct phone number to call should I need it. BeLiteWeight was mentioned many times by the staff as a good organization and that they would be in contact with me after returning home.
This is a safe, professional hospital. Absolutely no worries. I am 3 weeks post op now and have had no problems. I ran a temperature for several days that worked itself out, and I've had a few days of fatigue here and there. Nothing has kept me down completely, I've cooked for my husband, done our laundry and ironed clothes and even vacuumed the house through all this! My incisions look great, no signs of infection at all.
This surgery is not a walk in the park by any means, you are uncomfortable while healing. I have had a lot of gas that makes me burp a lot. I have had to work at keeping my bowels working. I've had to slow everything down while drinking and eating and even walk around some while eating to be able to get down what I need to. Each week that passes, you feel improvement and sense you're ready for the next level. I've made little tests along the way to sense what I can handle and so far so good. I have lost 21 lbs since surgery, no complaints about that! I am 61 yrs old come May, my goal is 50 more lbs to lose. If I lose another 15-20 after that, it will be icing on the cake. My goal is for quality of life with my husband of 44 years as well as with my extended family and not to be a "skinny minnie" 😄

Awesome experience
I was a little scared going to Mexico for this surgery, but once there it was a great experience. The group answered all the questions i had for this proceedure and most of my fears were gone. Once there they hospital staff @ Hospital Angeles were great, some language barriers but they treated me great. Doctor Villareal and his staff were great stopped in numerous times to make sure that i was in great health before departure. And the Belightweight staff has been checking up on me since then. As of 4/7 im offically down 20 pounds and its only been 2 weeks since surgery.
