Beaver Craft knives are great for beginners and just whittling around. They perform very well carving softer woods such as bass wood. They are easy to sharpen and maintain their edge well, but need to be sharpened more often than some of the better known knives if you're carving harder woods. They're great and I use them as much as I do some of my other knives. My Beaver Craft knives are usually the first one I pick up when I whittle.

Love the tools and the box, the instructions could have been alot more detailed, if I hadn’t found a local carving class to teach me the basics I would not have known what to do. It has been very fun though to make.

The wood of the starter pack is of great quality. The knife also cuts through smoothly. For a first time woodcutting i was surprised by how well the box was put together. Bandaids, cutting tape, clear instructions. Really worth buying and for sure will get more knives from here!

These are great tools for beginners. I have made two spoons and so far and found them comfortable to use and get good results with them.
