If this review was based solely on customer service...…I would have given Beachbikes 5 stars (maybe 6 - Karen was excellent in resolving all of the issues with this order). But...…….the quality of the bikes that I ordered is somewhat lacking. In all fairness, this may be the market standard since everything is outsourced to China these days. All I can say is that in the 80's, I used to own a Schwinn beach cruiser (5-speed) that was very similar in design but 3X the weight. (I used to ride it wrestling practice- so I was in shape then and it was an effort loading/unloading the bike to the bed of a truck). I would definitely opt for the lifetime warranty (it's pretty cheap). If you are in the market for a beach cruiser, I would recommend the following: 1. Purchase directly from the store and not online. The quality of the bikes (and packaging) makes it unlikely that it will arrive undamaged. This is not necessarily any fault of Beachbike as they are not the manufacturer - just a distributer. 2. If the bike is a gift and you are ordering online....order well ahead (2 months maybe), so that you can address any issues without any pressure of a timeline. I will say this...….Beachbikes does make a serious effort to fix any issues in a timely manner. (I was able to resolve all issues with my order and still be able to have both bikes before Christmas). 3. Inspect your boxes. This especially holds true if you order accessories....some of mine were initially missing (actually not missing, but were received 2 days after receiving the bikes) but were replaced quickly...but did add time to get the bike complete assembled. Consider a different lock...the U-lock w/cable is to heavy to be stable when mounted to the bike....go old school and opt for just the cable and wrap it around the seat post - can't go wrong. In short, the bikes do look great and I think my wife and I will have a lot of fun riding them. Beachbikes customer service is great...but as I mentioned before, if you need these bikes for a gift or another specific purpose and you are ordering online....anticipate issues. Beachbikes will resolve them, but it may impact your timeline. Fortunately for me, we were able to resolve all issues prior to Christmas. GD Texas

I purchased 3 urban cruiser bikes 2 lady 1 men (all 3 single speed coaster brakes). Lady bikes shipping tracker was updated, but 3rd bike was not. But bike did arrive the day it said. The "owner" emailed me, claimed there was gonna be a bike mechanic assigned to me, never received any assistance from them. But the bike were very easy to assemble without assistance. My daughters ride their bikes every day!!!

Fortunately my son is sponsored by Deity bikes ............he put it together for me! It wasn’t as easy as you described he’s actually a Bicycle mechanic and it still took him about 30 mins ! Also the touch up paint exploded in transition and got the bolts that needed to be put on one of the fenders so that ended up being a pain with goo gone ! Overall I love the bike it’s beautiful !

The bike is beautiful and seems to be well made. It is extremely heavy which is probably typical for beach bikes. My daughter wanted one for her birthday (we don’t live at the beach btw) so we ordered one. It’s not super flat around here and I’m glad I got the 7 speed or it would be unridable for her at the age of 12. Only other comment is I would have to argue that it is not 85% assembled. It took me almost 5 hours to get it together. I had the tools and know how and was able to figure it out and get the breaks aligned and adjusted along with the other bits and parts. You basically get the frame with a crank and chain and then need to assemble their rest. My daughter loves it and it looks great. I would give it a 5 if it was easier to assemble otherwise I have no real complaints.

First of all -- I love this bike so this review is in no way a reflection on the quality of the bike. My only reason for 4 stars is that I am definitely a novice at assembling a bike with hand brakes. I think the instructions were printed when the bike parts were slightly different -- maybe older versions of the parts. The instructions didn't exactly match the new parts. For an example, the seat now comes with a clamp versus a bolt. That's cool but I'm not totally sure how to make the seat not swivel. Of course, that could be because I have a left over black ring that could or could not be a part of that system. I didn't see anything in the instructions on how to install that part so I left it out. Yikes! The handle bars are also slightly different when installing but I finally figured out there was a little cap on the adjustment mechanism. I went online to figure out how to adjust the brakes because I couldn't get the front brakes to hit the rims evenly. However, not a huge deal and now I know a little bit more about how to adjust bike brakes. The last piece I still have not installed is a reflector. I just can't figure out if it actually goes on my bike or it was meant for another bike since I have the rack attachment on the bike. Also, not a huge deal. I'll probably take the advise of my bike friends and take it to a bike shop to get some adjustments made just to make sure I'm not biking down the road and my wheel falls off ;-) Customer service was awesome and the online videos definitely helped. I would say it took me about 3 hours to figure everything out but definitely glad they included tools. Lifesaver! Like I said -- I love this bike and it makes me smile. All those little issues are just that. Don't sweat the small stuff or you'll never have fun.

Great product, there was some order processing miscues since I choose to pick up the bike instead of having it shipped but everything else was great. I bought the bike for my 9 year old grand daughter and she loved it at first sight. The gentleman at the store adjusted the seat for her size and she test rode it in the stores parking lot ( Saturday no cars ) and has rode it to school everyday since. Very Happy with the fit and finish and overall experience. Nice to see good customer service and quality products still survive.

Need a little better instructions to put together.

Overall great experience. The website was very helpful in picking out the right bike. The assembly was also pretty easy. The bike looked great except for two scratches on the paint from shipping. Still, I am very satisfied.
