bbb is a mercenary of businesses and absolutely not on the consumer side.

This is an absolute waste of your time submitting anything to Better Business Bureau, please do not bother. There will be no attempt to formulate any resolution at any point. It would be recommended to spend your time else where as you will only be disappointed. Even the Vice President lacks an ability to thoroughly investigate and propagate a solution to an ongoing issue. Steer clear.

I had reported an unethical business practice by National Floors Direct to BBB. NFD agent included a ‘cancellation waiver’ clause in the contract without our knowledge. They refused to cancel our order citing the same waiver that they illegally placed in the document. They have still not refunded my deposit. BBB couldn’t do anything about it. I can understand that BBB may not be able to help resolve all the issues. But, what made me angry was that BBB will be flagging my complaint as “Answered - the business addressed the issues within the complaint, but the consumer remains dissatisfied”. The issue is far from addressed. BBB is a sham business. Don’t believe the number of complaints that they ‘resolved’. It is a joke. I have posted comment about NFD in Trustpilot as well.

Scam organization that so obviously protects paying members it’s sad. The whole concept of ‘rating ‘ businesses that pay you for membership is bogus , anyway

Latham Pools, NY. This business does not stand behind their work. We contacted them in April to see if they could repair the hotel outdoor pool. We sent pictures and after a few days they stated they could repair. The payment terms is 75% up front before we can be placed on a schedule.( We were not informed this at the beginning) I sent the check at end of April I was informed we are on the schedule for May 31. Tentatively. They did arrive on that date however the people they sent were not organized and did not stay in communication. They left one day and their tools were around the pool. We contacted the company and they responded they will contact to see what is the progress. The pool repairs were finished on 6/4 and they left trash and their barrels in the pool . We notice additional web cracks and after draining the pool again we saw the middle of the pool is elevated. Water is trapped on the side. We sent pictures and on June 5 was our last phone conversation. Yesterday we received a call around 3pm after more than 2 weeks of myself and another person emailing and calling a few times a week for communication and discuss their plan to correct the issue they developed. As of this writing on June 24 at 8:44am we have not talked with Luke who we were told is the person that will need to be involved. He did speak briefly to my maintenance supervisor on June 23 and he asked for pictures. He was told to call me and I have not spoken to anyone.

As others have said, it is a scam organization which protects scam businesses. BBB gives A+ rating to every business who pay a subscription fee. Even if that business is obviously fraudulent and has 9 out of 10 bad reviews, and the other 1 out of 10 are badly misspelled obviously paid good reviews. 1 out of 5 stars user reviews for 24 Hour Fitness and some obvious scam time-share companies, yet they all have A+ with BBB.

This is an organization to protect bad businesses. All the have to do is pay the fees to the BBB. This organization should be outlawed. They do and resolve nothing.

Complete waste of time and resources. I wrote a review a week and a half ago still not showing on business page. They only thing the BBB does is send your complaint to the business and pass back and fourth replies. They always takes the business’s side. No issue is ever resolved especially in the consumers favor. Do away with the BBB!
