BBB is an aging PRIVATE company that has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with government or has any regulatory power whatsoever. Remember that next time you read their reviews. They rank companies based on the fees they pay meaning they are definitely FOR PROFIT. They act like they are part of the federal regulatory system- THEY ARE NOT. Just a private company using public ignorance to rake in profits and pretend like they are important. They are not. And a class action suit is what they are headed for.

They will bend over backwards to take care of giant corporations that probably fund them. In this case, it was Bank of America when I reported their underhanded tactics of charging fees AFTER I paid off a loan and closed my account.

My concern is their company rating system. I had an issue with a scam insurance company (Falcon Insurance) which has an A+ rating because they respond to 100% of complaints. The problem is that they will lie or ask the same standard question of what is your claim number? It seems as if the BBB disregards whatever the customer says . I called Falcon out for lying and the only thing the BBB cared about was if they responded. Falcon insurance deserves an F rating. Perhaps they are ones who pay to get a fake grade based on a non-response that addresses the issue.

This org is 100% scam! Defame the hardworking small business because we don't pay their annual fee. With strong work ethic we get great rating from Google & Yelp. Most customers even don't care BBB rating year 2023. So, what's the point pay annual fee to BBB. And, they rated my comapny very low with a few reviews and show it on Google everyday! We have hundreds reviews from Google & Yelp.But sill top rated on both review platforms. Why BBB still exist & keep asking money and defaming hardworking small bsuiness?

As others on here have stated, the BBB is a fraud. They run a Pay-to-Play scam where they give A+ Accreditation to businesses as long as they pay them dues and respond to complaints. Even if the responses don't address the issue and the business fails to follow through. ANY business can get an A+, even criminals. They gave an A+ to Al Queda in a 20/20 undercover expose some years ago. I filed a complaint against a dues paying business and the BBB refused to process it. The company in question is a know fraud, but has an A+ rating because it pays them dues. Zero Trust. Zero Integrity. They should be shut down

Had a poor experience with the BBB - I had left a negative review of a fuel heating company in Halifax; I had detailed everything that had occurred, as well as the person responsible for attempting to withhold owing funds in the company, I posted it on the BBB site, and the company just said I was lying and threatened me with a lawyer (I responded with something along the lines of "Go ahead and try - this is exactly what happened"), and the BBB just deleted my entire narrative without even contacting me = a company can outright lie and they are automatically considered in the right. The experience has given me 0 confidence in the BBB.
