I have called Bay a few times on behalf of my mother who uses their medical alarm system. I’ve called to inquire about their wrist/lanyard devices and need to replace my mothers wrist style device. Each time I call, I get a different answer and different replacement cost. Once i was told that the old style wrist device is no longer supported or available for replacement. Yet when I called two days ago I was given the option to get a whole replacement of that style or just the button device or just the band… which is what we wanted in the first place! Get it together guys!!

Should hang up the phone before you you…
Should hang up the phone before you you start giving attitude
Response from Bay Alarm MedicalJul 11, 2024
Linda, it is very important that all of our representatives are putting customers first on every call. I pulled that call to provide coaching and correction for the agent and I apologize if you felt attitude but I can assure you that was not the case. I did let them know before having any side conversation to make sure caller has disconnected. However I wanted to make sure you knew he had no bad attitude or ill intentions after helping you out.

It took forever to get the rep to…
It took forever to get the rep to understand that the watch would turn off while still having a charge. This is not a difficult concept and easily conveys the problem. The watch charges but randomly turns off while still having a charge. They also refused to extend the trial period even though I have been trying to get this resolved for over 2 weeks. I have email confirmation of the delays that Bay Alarm Medical used.

Automated Low Battery Alerts
Perhaps a review of how automated "low battery alerts" are given, who can temporarily halt them until issue is resolved (particularly on weekends), and ensuring all staff (supervisors included) know procedures, could result in better and quicker resolution.

The tech had proper English, but heavy accent
The tech had good English, but the accent was hard to understand, along with her quiet voice. I had to ask many times to repeat things.

More care needed
There is no occasional check up on us to make sure we are alright.
They don't check to see if the equipment is working correctly.
They have not been asking for a security question, when contact with them has been made. It could be an intruder or anyone else answering the call.

Hi Irene - Thank you for your review. Customer acknowledgement and feedback is very important to our team and are using it to improve our products and services. We do automatic testing on the main base unit every week and will contact the customer if there is an issue with the connection. We cannot test the button ourselves, which is why we advise customers to test their button(s) at least once per month. This allows customers to stay familiar with emergency calls, our dispatch center, and to ensure the button is working properly for them. In regards to security, we absolutely verify information, but will never provide it to the person on the other end, even if it is the customer. (i.e. If someone calls needing the lockbox code, we won't give it out even if they verify all account info. This is to protect the customer.) If there is an emergency and you push your button, but an intruder is there, they would need to verify account information. If they cannot, our dispatch center will take protocol as an emergency. We are not a home security company, so we can't protect the home entirely from intruders, but a medical alert system is a fast and easy way to get help in any emergency versus dialing a phone and calling for help. If you need assistance with testing your system, please feel free to contact our Tech Support team and we'd be happy to help you! Thank you again for your feedback!

Customer service was good when needed…
Customer service was good when needed and the equipment worked well (for the 6 months we used it). The only downside on the equipment was the necklace our father used would trigger the alarm at times while changing his shirt. One annoyance was when we returned the product we did so under 30 days before the next billing, as a result they didn't credit us with the 2 weeks (approximately $15) of returning it early (they said we needed to return it at least 30 days before the next billing cycle in order to receive credit, or some BS). I thought this was a cheap move to nickle and dime the customer.

I bought this to satisfy my children…
I bought this to satisfy my children who didn't want me living alone without some sort of fall protection. I find the wrist band a pain and I can't believe your supposed to wear it all the time. The fall detection GPS unit I found to be too sensitive. Wearing in my belt was okay, but putting it in the sheath set it off and generated several calls. I think I'm going to return it until such time as I think I need it.
