Had a little problem testing the device when we received it but overall seems to be a good product. Hope we never have to use it but it is helpful to know it is there.

we received the unit about a week ago and I unpacked it and followed instructions and got it plugged in and my wife pressed the button; it took less than a minute for someone to answer. We did not take the button outside to test it outside. Question: since the base operates on 12 volts; can the unit operate in the car and go on trips with us?
