Paid over $100 and waited a week for a car key fob. I asked repeatedly if I was going to be able to leave the store with a working key for that price and they said yes. When key came in, I called and they said I had to make an appointment it was only available on certain days and I hadn’t been told. I drove across town for the appointment, waited 20 minutes to be told that they don’t have a code to program it and I’d have to wait two more days and pay 25 more dollars to get it . After significant back-and-forth they agreed to waive the $25 but I would still have to wait days and then reschedule again and come back again . I got a call the next day saying they couldn’t get the code. They did not apologize. I was listening for it. They said they’d give me my money back, but even that is ending up being multiple calls and days later. 2 weeks later I have no key & have wasted hours of time and money. My key is from a major manufacturer and it’s offered on
their website. They charged me a programming fee before I could even get the key sent to my city. Why was it a surprise to them that they didn’t have the tools to perform the service I paid for. Just disappointing.

Cannot use virtual credit card for online purchase with store pickup
I purchased online for store pickup. I use virtual credit card numbers for online purchases so I can lock them when not in use. Batteries plus Bulbs requires you to present the credit card you used for the online purchase when you pick up the order. This is impossible with virtual card numbers. Be aware you cannot use virtual card numbers online at batteriesplus.com. This is the only online purchase - in store pickup I have encountered that required the credit card to be presented at pickup. In my experience Walmart, HomeDepot, Lowes, Target, Staples, OfficeDepot do not require credit card presentation at pickup.

Poor customer service
I am not new to Batteries Plus Bulbs and neither to this store 074 (2606 S 132nd Street, Omaha, NE) but this experience upset me. I had gone to replace the batteries for our 4 watches. The man at the counter (never saw him before) said it'd be $8.99 (each). When I commented that the car FOB batteries were cheaper (at their store), it upset him. 'It is just 1 dollar more and you have to pay for installation', he growled. Although I should have walked out, I did not want to be a cheapy that asked prices and walked off. I decided to change for 1 watch only. On paying $9.62 (taxes were not mentioned!), I found he had not even bothered to adjust the time. So much for world class customer service. Too much attitude to change a simple battery; not going there again.

Don't put a cell phone screen protector on too quickly after getting your cracked screen replaced at an "authorized" repair shop.
My I-phone 6 screen and glass screen protector (Zagg) was cracked in several places after I'd dropped my phone on cement. Square Trade issued me a claim number and gave me an option to take it to a local authorized repair store to have the screen replaced. I went to Batteries Plus Bulbs and had the screen replaced. Within 48 hours, I realized my screen wasn't responding in the lower half. It would freeze up when texting, wouldn't lift up to access the control center and I couldn't hang up from calls by touching the red end call button. I called Square Trade and was told to do a reboot, and if that didn't fixe the problem, to take it back to Batteries Plus Bulbs, as their work was warranted. I returned a week later with my phone. My phone was "re-set" and given back to me at the counter. In front of the associate, I tried to access the green phone button, and it was clearly frozen. He took my phone back to the technician and returned with it 25 minutes later with a newly installed second screen. My original new screen protector, which I had put on the phone after the first screen replacement, had obviously been placed on the screen. It was obvious because it was clouded with dust particles and fingerprints all on the underside that adheres to the screen. I voiced my discontent and said this was not acceptable. The associate took it back to the technician again. The technician came out to speak with me and asked me what I expected him to do. I told him I expected to have the screen protector looking clear and free of dust and fingerprints, that it should be replaced. He insisted I was wrong because I didn't purchase the protector from his store. After loosing my battle, I walked out of the store and called Square Trade, only to be told that phone accessories aren't covered under the warranty, even though it was their authorized repair store who had damaged my screen protector in their second attempt to replace my cracked screen.
The following day, I received a call from Batteries Plus Bulbs technician. He apologized and offered a replacement screen protector. I went to the store that day and he replaced my screen protector, free of charge and was apologetic. I appreciated his apologies and change of mind, but still feel this was an inadequate experience with a lot of friction just to get my cracked screen replaced through the Square Trade warranty.
I would first rate Batteries Plus Bulbs 1-star: Bad--unacceptable experience, unreasonable and rude conduct; but I have given them a 2-star rating only because I did ultimately end up with a working screen and a replacement screen protector.
