Today was my first and LAST visit to Batteries+Bulbs based on the lack of customer service I DIDN'T receive today...I went in with a pocket/keychain garage door opener that probably needed a new battery. I am a 72 year old senior citizen and my dexterity is not the best so I asked for the battery size indicated on the opener case and was told they only come in a 2-pack (of course) for $7. Of note, when I entered the store, the TWO employees were sitting in a corner laughing over something on one of their telephones...I hated to disturb them but as I said, I probably needed a battery. I asked if, since they were NOT busy and there were no other customers, they would kindly install the small battery for me. I was
quickly told "Sure, that will be a TEN DOLLAR CHARGE!!!" I seriously thought the guy was joking but he said "THAT is what we charge." I looked at the bottom of the receipt for a feedback address and when I entered it - Sorry, that site is unavailable!
All-in-all, pretty sad and as I said - our last time we will visit there!

Key Fob
Key Fob. My orevious one lasted 18 yrs. The one bought here only lasted 2 years. They were unwilling to make it right. They said it would cost $40.00 for a replacement outer casting. Probably cost $1.00 to make and they probably bought it for $2.00.
They must think their customers are stupid. We aren't. THEY ARE.
I bought exactly what I need on Amazon for $5.95.
Spread the word.
They lost a valued customer and many referrals.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Worst store to buy anything at
If I could give 0 stars I would. We got a battery for a motorcycle and while shopping for the battery the guy helping us went to get the Duracell brand so we could compare the two brands. While he went to get the Duracell off the shelf the “Manager” sold the battery we had on the counter to someone else and proceeded to tell us that if we wanted it we would have to wait while they charged/filled a new one. Well obviously now we have to pay more for the battery or wait for god knows how long for the other one, so we got the more expensive one (should have been the red flag that made us walk away to begin with!). Two weeks later (to the day) when we went to use it and it was completely dead. We tried to charge it and it wouldn’t hold any charge (Like was at 12 when we left the house from having it on a charger to 8 when we got to the store 15 minutes later). So we did what anyone would do, we went back to the store to return it. The manager stated we had to leave it with them for 24 to 48 hours to have it stay on a charger to be tested first. 3 days later we finally get a call (as they are closing) and they stated the battery failed the tests and we will have to wait another 3 days for it to arrive from a store that is maybe 30 mins further out then the store we went to, but we can go get it ourselves if we don’t want to wait, yeah great customer service! Finally 4 days after they stated they would have the new battery in (so 7 days after we took it in) we finally get a call that we can come get it the day after. So we go in to pick it up and they tell us “oh well there aren’t any notes in the file so I will have to test the original battery to know how to notate the file.” Then after testing it he says “We won’t be giving you the new battery as this one tests fine.” At this point I am done and ask for the manager who ended up giving us the new battery, but stated “Well I’m just going to give it to you as I will get my money back on the battery either way.” This store is in Chesterfield County Virginia on Midlothian Turnpike. I will never purchase anything from this store ever again, and from reading the other posts I will not shop at any franchised location. Just a bunch of crooks who sell crap batteries. My next step will be to contact Duracell who is the maker of the battery if this one has the same issue as the manager then stated “We will not replace it again even tho you still have 11 months on the warranty.”

Terrible taste left in my mouth after my battery died 1 month after warranty guaranteed it.
I had Batteries and bulbs at 1604/Redland Road replace a battery in my iPad Air. About 7 months later the iPad started “acting up” again with the battery doing the exact same draining dance it had been before Batteries and Bulbs repaired it and charged me $90.
I called today and was told by Cody, I’m guessing he’s the same Cody that helped me in May; that Batteries and Bulbs only provides a 6 month warranty on their work. He basically said sorry bud, you’re out of warranty.
I’m giving one star for a crappy company that does not stand behind their work. I would not buy any battery, for any device from this company ever again and I recommend you get your batteries and bulbs elsewhere!

Buyer Beware!
On Oct 22 I took my 4-year-old Samsung S7 to the Concord NH store for a battery replacement. The new battery ran down faster than the original. I returned on Nov 11 to complain and ask for a refund. I was told I was using too many apps & thus draining the phone more rapidly. This was not true because I was using the phone in exactly the same manner I had for the previous four years. l returned again on Nov 26 and asked for a refund- the battery was depleting even more rapidly. I was offered a 50% refund, which I declined, saying I wanted a full refund. I called the store twice today (Dec 5th). An associate said he could offer no refund (strange, a few weeks ago I was offered a 50% refund). I told him I was placing the credit card transaction in dispute. The manager (probably the franchise owner) called me back. I told him, that if I did not receive a refund I would place the issue in dispute with my credit card issuer. Still, no refund was offered so the dispute is now working its way through the process.
It is unfortunate that they will not stand behind their work. Obviously everything they do does not turn out like this, but when something does not go well they should rectify the complaint. The two takeaways from this are:
First: Always use a credit card. You are at least sure of a process that may resolve the problem.
Second: If possible avoid doing business with small mom and pop outfits. Even though this appears to be a nationwide organization, it is a franchise. You are dealing with an individual franchisee, just another little mom and pop operation, not with a large corporation, like Sears, Lowe’s or Home Depot. Buyer beware!

Went to buy 3 batteries
Went to buy 3 1.2V NiCd "C" 2800 mAh batteries. Was told 2100 would work so I bought them but found out they were too small. Went back after the return policy was up and was told by some toothless gal that a metal extender would work. She put the extenders on the batteries and I took them home and put them in my solar lamp post. They still did not work. I spent $15.23 for nothing. I will never go back to store #623 in Springfield, PA again.

Arlington, Washington Store is Horrible
This is for the Arlington, Washington store:
I needed a new battery for my vehicle, and I had gone in before for batteries for remotes and key fobs, so I thought, why not? A wonderful woman walked me through the process, and I was in and out in under an hour. Flash forward three months, and I came out to a dead battery. I have a charger, charged it up, and went on my way. I called them up and I was told that if it charged up that quickly, it was probably a light that was left on all night. I didn't think twice about it, but the next time I went to the mechanic, I asked him to check to make sure everything was fine. He said it was, but that the battery was severely underpowered for my rig, and suggested I get a new one. I told him that that I had only bought it three months ago, and he said it should keep me going, but wasn't my best bet.
This weekend, we went south for Thanksgiving. Two hours into the drive, I pulled into McDonalds for the kids. I turned off the car for no more than a minute to drop them off, and the battery died again. At 5 am on Thanksgiving, it took hours for a tow truck to come charge it. The driver said he wouldn't advise charging, because the battery was on its last leg (after now five months). He could do it, but recommended buying a new one, which we did.
Today, I called Batteries Plus and explained my situation. I spoke to someone who said she was going to get the owner. His IMMEDIATE response was that he "was frustrated with my call." He said he couldn't understand why I wouldn't just bring it in to one of their locations. When I explained that I had no vehicle to bring it in, nor did I think any would be open at 5 am on Thanksgiving, he had the nerve to say that it was poor planning on my part. I told him that I would bring the battery in and continue the discussion at the store to see what could be done.
When I got there, I was met with "If you're going to have attitude with me, I'll call the cops and kick you out of my store. You'll be stuck with the battery. You're stuck with it anyway because I am not refunding anything." No greeting, no apology for the mess that their product created, just an attack. I explained that I never once asked for a refund, and I only approached him cordially, asking for a solution. He continued to throw attitude my way as if I was inconveniencing him. He belittled me and showed no concern for the lack of a viable product, or even for my family missing Thanksgiving.
His employee stepped up and said that she would test the battery and give me a call later with some options. Even she recognized how horrible he was.
I implore you, don't go here. I'll be honest, I want to negatively impact the business as a result of the horrible treatment that I have had. I will not sugar-coat my desire for retribution, but ask yourself, if even one person was treated that way, is that a business that you would want to spend your money?

Don't Buy Batteries for Motorcycles from Batteries Plus Bulbs
Bought a Duracell battery for a Harley Davidson Sportster at the Batteries Plus Bulbs store in Lakeland, FL. My Harley repair shop had not yet opened in Lakeland, so I thought I would give them a try. Big mistake. The clerk selected the battery that I needed. I installed it. It worked for about 5 rides over the course of 5 months, but then would not start the bike. I took the battery back. They gave me a replacement. I installed it. It did not start the Sportster. By then, my Harley repair shop had opened, so I jumped my bike from my car, took it to my Harley repair shop. They checked everything, but battery would not start the bike. I bought a Harley replacement battery. It starts the bike. My Harley repair man says motorcycles need stronger, more durable batteries than the ones sold by Batteries Plus Bulbs. I returned the battery to Batteries Plus Bulbs. I told them the 2 batteries they had sold me would not start my bike. He said he would give me a replacement, but not a refund. I told him I didn't need a third battery that would not work. Bottom line, do not buy batteries from Batteries Plus Bulbs for a Harley, or probably any motorcycle. They will not work. Their warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on.
