Batteries + Bulbs in fern creek is awful! Rude and incompetent! Purchased new battery for iPhone and by the functioning of the phone appears they placed my old battery back in!!! NO customer service

Took IPhone 7 Plus in to have battery replaced. At the time the battery health was at 70 % needing serviced. Had to wait a full day because they had no batteries. After picking Phone up discovered battery health was still at 70%, as if the battery had not been changed. (Which I believe is the fact). Took back to store again, once again no battery was available. Left phone at store overnight, was told battery was being brought from another store by the manager. The following day I went to pick up phone and battery had not been changed. Asked for a refund and was told they would have to put original battery in. After hunting for some time for the battery, it was finally put back in. Received my refund. After powering up phone discovered phone battery health was at 81%. No way this was my original battery. What a scam. Will NEVER enter another Batteries Plus or recommend them.

I set an appointment at the Urbandale, Iowa Batteries Plus Bulbs location to have the battery changed on my iPhone, dropping it off for service by the experienced tech. When we returned 20 minutes later, he was watching a less experienced tech attempt to pry the battery out of the phone. Before our eyes, loud hissing, and flames engulfed our phone. Acrid smoke filled the store. There was no apology forthcoming from either the employee or the manager; ultimately we stood around the store the next two hours while they phoned around to various stores around the area looking for a replacement phone. We were left unattended for 20 minute stretches at a time, and were forced to specifically ask for very occasional updates. Management repeatedly misled us about the replacement phone, claiming they were ordering a new phone. When pressed to send us the order info, it was clearly a cheaper refurbished phone he had ordered. We felt pressured to accept a used replacement phone that might certainly have issues, or might even have inferior aftermarket parts installed given the price point. Given the lost trust, we took the payout and ran, but their payout fell dismally short of the true value of the phone we needed to replace. Their manager likes the phrase “we’ll make it right”, but we certainly don’t feel he lived up to the phrase. Fat chance getting a loaner phone – the one they offered was faulty, and I was worried about getting financially tagged for its problems if I accepted it. Their price point for replacing iPhone batteries is lower than Apple’s, but I strongly recommend you reconsider the risk versus the savings. I wish I had.

Wish I could give ZERO stars, this place is a RIPOFF!!! Bought a battery 5 months ago, suddenly it won’t hold a charge. I bring it in, they tell me they’ll test it and call me back. After a week and no call I go back to the store. Get told ‘sorry, it won’t hold a charge’. No kidding? That’s why I brought it in! So, do I get a replacement under their ‘full replacement warranty’? Nope. Sorry, defective isn’t covered. We can sell you another one. HA! Yeah, I’m gonna give you more money to screw me again? Don’t think so! Plus they will lose more business from me telling this story to everyone than that replacement would have cost, by far. NAPA and Walmart, and every other place will either replace or pro rate a defective battery. AVOID THIS SLEAZY COMPANY!

Be vary concerned about getting batteries rebuilt here. I had three Makita batteries rebuilt and put them with the miter box and placed them in storage. A year later I used the tool and one of the batteries would not charge and i took it to the store on Colerain. Because the service was done over a year they charged me 40.00 to fix their mistake. The tech said they found a loose tab inside so to me it wasn't secured. Properly. I've purchased three truck batteries last year and a jumper box for almost 200.00 so I guess this doesn't mean anything. You would think Batteries Plus would want to make their mistake right but I'll have to find a better more responsible place to get batteries and work done.

Placed an order online for same day pick up. Would have just ordered it on Amazon but I figured if I could get the item same day I cpuld install it over the weekend. As i was driving to the store I had it scheduled to pick it up at I received a call feom the store stating that they don't have the item in stock and it would be a week before it was in. I asked if any other stores have it in stock and I was told no as it is a specialty item. I asked why when orderimng it online it wouldn't indicate it is not in stock or give me a date that it would arrive at the store and I was told by the person on the phone that the website says to call the store to verify it is in stock before ordering it. I told them I will just order it on Amazon and asked if they could credit my crrdit card. I was told that I have to come to the store to have my card credited. Ao as I continue to drive out of my way to the store to get my charge refunded I received another call from the store from a different employee to let me know that the item I ordered was not in stock and that it would be 2 weeks before they could have it in the store. I explained I already received a call and told them I will purchase the item elsewhere and that I just want a refund to my card. I asked again if the could issue the refund without me coming in as it seems like they should be able to and again told that I have to come in to get a refund. So I continued to drive to the store. When I arrived the store owner was there and I explained I was there to get a credit issued to my card to which he told me they don't do at the store and that he will "decline" my order which will initiate a credit to my card. He did apologize that his staff incorrectly informed about how to get a credit issued. My main issues with this experience is 1) B+Bs online system and that it doesn't in anyway state whether things I was ordering are in stock. Most websites will at least identify if there is "limited availability". This is especially frustrating since the store employees indicated no stores carry what I was ordering as it is a special order item. B+B ahould at the very least identify apecial order items on thwir website. 2) That I had to apend 50 minutes if my time driving to and from the store to get a refund that I was told by two different employees that I needed to drive to the store to get a refund and then when I arrived I was told they din't donthe refunds at the store. The hour of time I wasted was qorth more then the item I was buying. Lesson learned just order it on Amazon. I literally copied the item name from the B+B website pasted it in Amazon and swioed "buy now" while I sat at a light driving to B+B for my refund.
