FBI needs to investigate for…
FBI needs to investigate for RACKETEERING, BATTERIESPLUS is a coordinated SCHEME. On Saturday, July 11, 2026, I went to Batteries Plus to replace a Duracell automotive battery under “Warranty”, approximately one month shy of its three-year warranty expiration. The battery was purchased on August 28, 2023. This battery was installed in a collectible car that is kept in a climate-controlled garage for the past 3 years, started approximately every two weeks and was not subjected to extreme temperatures or neglect. What surprised me was that I was told the warranty was void because the battery tested below 10.0 volts. (Which I was never shown). Furthermore, nowhere in the store did I see any disclosure of this requirement, or there is a “Limited” warranty. However, throughout the store, Batteries Plus advertises a "3-Year Warranty," proudly and prominently but again there is no clear indication that it is a limited warranty or that coverage is denied if the battery voltage falls below a certain threshold. When I questioned this policy and asked to see it in writing, the sales associate searched around the store, called a manager, and eventually told me they couldn't find any “Pamphlet” or written documentation explaining this warranty limitation. If a condition like a 10.0-volt minimum is required for warranty coverage, customers should be clearly informed before they make a purchase, and this so called “Test” should be done at the front counter in front of the customer. Instead, Batteries Plus practice is to call in few hours after tying to “So Called” recharge the Battery. Again, Batteries Plus stores proudly advertisements simply promote a three-year warranty without explaining what appears to be a significant exclusion. There wasn't even an offer of a prorated replacement or credit. I feel cheated for paying for an overpriced auto battery with 3-year warranty which is never intended to be honored. Total Scam. Where’s Dateline, Channel 12 I-Team Investigators, FBI racketeering team for coordinated schemes. Consumer, I are being misled and this is very disappointing. My concern isn't just about one battery—it's about whether customers are being given clear and complete information regarding warranty coverage before they buy. I hope Batteries Plus improves its disclosure of warranty terms so future customers know exactly what they're purchasing.
