The worst company, they need two people, a recruiter and an account executive to find a job THAT DOESN'T EVEN EXIST. Like someone in South Carolina is going to help someone in California and they know nothing about the regulations in THIS state. Why would it take two people to place a doctor in a job,? So they can dick you around. Stay away!

Very complicated the way they asked for…
Very complicated the way they asked for reference was very inappropriate and not possible.
They closed my application because I don’t have reference of ( someone work with me) during the last year only! I explained several times to Andrew ( the staffing consultant) that I am a self employed and own my own practice for many years and I don’t have such a reference within last year, and they insist of having reference from my employees!!!
Very inappropriate and not logic to ask an employer to request a reference from my employees who are new to this business and I trained them. I felt downgraded.

I did not have a great experience
I did not have a great experience. I heard many great things regarding this company, but I was not so lucky. I unfortunately had multiple recruiters, which resulted miscommunication from the beginning to the end of my experience. I was never informed that my recruiter was no longer with the company, just a new person calling me with misinformation. It was very frustrating. I was harassed and mislead. It was truly an unfortunate experience.

I felt like everyone was well informed…
I felt like everyone was well informed and a pleasure to work with. Expectations were met. And I found it to be a very enjoyable experience working with new offices.

They won’t stop contacting me, two years later.
While I have not used their contracting services (I found a job with which I’ve been content and very busy before they found a good option for me), I’ve been contacted every couple of weeks by phone and email about job opportunities. To be frank, I’m sick of receiving communications about job positions almost 2 years after finding a position. Every single person I speak with at Barton whom I ask politely to be removed from the contact list apologizes and assures me I will be removed and not contacted again, and then a couple weeks go by before the calls and emails start again. It’s very unprofessional.

Hi Craig, the easiest way to be removed from the email list is to unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of any of the emails. Please send an email to info@bartonassociates with your email, phone number that is being called, and we can move this along for you. We apologize for any inconvenience. If your situation changes and you want to explore locums again, please reach out and we will be sure to add you back to our list. There are new jobs added daily so whenever you are ready, please take a look. We look forward to resolving this for you in a timely fashion.

Recommend using other companies
I was contacted by Barton to help them with a client hospital in the state of Washington, Prosser Memorial Hospital, for the period including Christmas and New Year's. The request included both clinic and call coverage. When I arrived there, the hospital hadn't scheduled any clinic patients. However, whenever patients called with questions the nurses would call me and have me answer the questions. Or a few times, patients would call with problems and need to be seen, so I might have an add-on appointment. After the assignment was finished, the hospital said that there was no clinic on days that there were no scheduled patients and only paid me for the hours that I saw add-on appointments. Essentially, they had me covering their clinic on an hourly basis and "as needed" as if I was on call for their clinic.
I told Barton that if they weren't paying me for clinic then they shouldn't have called me with questions from clinic patients and they should have told their clinic patients that their clinic patients were closed over the holidays. Whether the hospital schedules patients before I arrive on assignment is entirely out of my control. Barton actually agreed with me after I explained the situation. However, the hospital refused to pay me. There were no complaints about my performance on the assignment or disputes about the hours as I logged them. After four months, Barton simply told me that there was nothing they could do and closed the matter. At the end, Prosser Memorial Hospital paid me roughly one third of what I calculated I actually earned during this assignment. Not only was I not paid for clinic coverage, the hospital also didn't pay me some of my call/hospital coverage time. I never was told how they reached the sum they paid me, but it looked like they just paid me whatever they wanted.
The reason for my low rating is that, even though the client hospital was the problem in this instance, I cannot recommend Barton for the following reasons. First, and most importantly, as I even told them, if a contractor cannot trust that they will be paid at the end of an assignment then there's no point in working for that company. I, as a contractor, will be held 100% to my end of the contract, but the other party will not, which is ridiculous. Secondly, they clearly value their client hospital relationship over the contractor. That may make sense for Barton, but it means that there's no point in working for them as a contractor. Thirdly, Barton knew this was going to be the resolution for the issue and kept on reassuring me they'd fix the problem. They drew things out for a third of a year. The only reason they eventually told me that the matter was closed was because they wanted me to take on another assignment (with a different client) and I told them that I wouldn't do so with an open issue.

erratic service
I stay with Barton because I like working with the staff at the facilities that I'm contracted with. However Barton is very erratic in that it can take a long time to get paid and checks get lost or never get sent and I usually have to make several phone calls before new contracts get sent to me. Also frequently the electronic timesheet entity is out of date or isn't established or I can access it

SPAM THEY WILL NEVER STOP CALLING
If you do anything do let them get your phone number. They call 4-5 times per week from different offices and phone numbers. After asking to be placed on their do not call list as it affects my current job, and blocking all of the numbers that they call me from, I have had no luck. They still call from newly generated numbers. They harass you even after business hours. I'm sure their employees get paid by the phone call. They will spam you and harass you for the rest of your life even if you are on their do not call list. On vacation? Barton will call 6 times. Working on a patient? Barton will call. On the phone? Barton will call. There's no such thing as a do not call list because I have been on it and continued to receive phone calls.
