The cellular shades these people sell are junk. Eventually the cells will stick together, and the shade won't drop without pulling on it manually. The material then appears crinkled. This is a quality issue. It was only a matter of time before the continuous cord loop breaks.

Thank you for the review. I apologize for the delay in replying, we were trying to locate any proof of an order from you. The order number that you provided in TrustPilot's review system is not our order number. In an attempt to locate you as a customer we searched our order history, going back to 2005, and we have no orders from any customer named John Gregory. We also searched for orders with the last name Gregory that had ordered cellular shades and in our 19+ years of business, we have never had a customer with the last name Gregory order a cellular shade with a continuous cord loop. We then searched all emails and there are none from a John or Gregory related to cellular shades. We also sent you a request through TrustPilot for more information and you did not respond. We then reviewed the records of all warranty issues for cellular shades in our system and we have never had a customer report the cell issues that you stated. If we had, those issues would have been resolved through the manufacturer warranty.
Based on the above information, it is clear that this is not a legitimate review of our company or our products. However, we are more than happy to assist you with contacting the correct company or even the manufacturer of the shades that you have. We sell cellular shades from several different manufacturers, many of which are the same exact manufacturers as our competitors. Due to this, we are more than happy to assist you to try and get your issue resolved, even though it was not an order placed with us. In order for us to do that, please contact us at [email protected]. Thank you!

We are sorry to hear about your opinion of our emails to you. Here are the full details for everyone to read, as all communication prior to this review was handled via email.
The manufacturer of the product that you ordered mistakenly shipped the order to our office in NC, instead of to your address. The shipment arrived at our office on Wednesday, 3/6, outside of our business hours. On Thursday, 3/7, we discovered the shipping error and we contacted the manufacturer asking how this could be quickly resolved. The manufacturer replied to us stating that FedEx was scheduled to pick the shipment up on 3/8 for re-shipment to you.
Before we could relay that information to you, the manufacturer you emailed us the following on 3/7 at 3:35pm EST:
"I got proof of delivery that my blinds were delivered to North Carolina? I live in Greenwood, IN. What is going on?"
We replied immediately on 3/7 at 3:48pm EST with the following (just 13 minutes after we received your email to us)::
"The manufacturer mistakenly shipped your order to our office in NC. It is being reshipped tomorrow to your address. We apologize for the manufacturer’s mishap on shipping. Thank you!"
The shipment was ready and waiting for FedEx on Friday for the pickup. Unfortunately, when we returned the to office on Monday, 3/11, we discovered that FedEx had not picked the shipment up. We contacted the manufacturer asking that they re-issue the pickup to get this resolved. They replied at 3:20pm EST that the pickup was re-issued it for 3/12.
You emailed then emailed us on 3/11 at 3:23pm EST, just after the manufacturer's reply, saying the following:
"Do we have new tracking information or when I can expect them now?"
We replied on 3/11 at 3:27pm EST with the following (just 4 minutes after we received your email to us):
"FedEx did not make the pickup on Friday, so we sent the information to the manufacturer. They contacted FedEx and FedEx changed the pickup window to tomorrow, Tuesday, 3/12. Once it is picked up, they should provide us with the tracking number. At that time, we will add it to your order status and email it to you automatically. Based on typical FedEx transit times, you should receive the shipment around 3/15. The tracking number will provide a more accurate estimated delivery date. Thank you!"
FedEx surprisingly showed up at our office on 3/11 at 8:10pm EST, outside of our business hours, and made the pickup instead of on 3/12. After the pickup, we entered the new tracking information into our system and it automatically emailed the tracking number to you, so you were aware of the new shipping details. According to the tracking the shipment was delivered to you on 3/13.
We never had any other emails from you until we received this negative review. If anything in those emails is "lacking and smartelic", then we apologize. We replied to both emails immediately, within 13 and 4 minutes of receiving them. All email information is provided in this email, so others can read our replies and see if they were anything but factual.
After receiving the review, we attempted to call you to discuss it and you answered the phone in a rude manner demanding that we never contact you again and that we remove you completely from our system. It was then attempted to be explained to you that if we completely remove you, we will have no record of you as having an order and we would not be able to assist with warranty issues. You started swearing at our representative due to that information and threatened to sue us. You then hung up when the representative attempted to explain that we do not provide the warranty, the manufacturer does, so while you could still get warranty assistance through them, we would not be able to assist because we would not have any record of you as being a customer. Per your request, your information has been completely removed from our system, in accordance with the Privacy Act. Thank you and we hope you have a nice day.

I have ordered 3 times from award…

On Line 1 of your order you ordered 30" x 16", so the blinds that you received are correct based on what you ordered. However, we have a policy that can assist you at re-ordering correctly below our cost, which was attempted to be explained to you on the phone by our customer service representative. Upon reviewing your orders, I see that you ordered this same exact size on your previous order that was placed under 2 weeks prior to this order, perhaps you mistakenly used that measurement instead of whatever is the correct measurement. Regardless of why you made the error, I am sorry that it occurred. Please note that for our protection, we have complete logs showing what you selected and when. If the manufacturer made a manufacturing error, we would take responsibility and correct it. However, this is not a manufacturer error, but as stated we have a policy designed to assist you at a heavily discounted price that is below our cost.
We first learned about your measuring/ordering issue when you left a voicemail outside of our business hours yelling at us. So, as a curiosity one of our customer service representatives called you back the same day, outside of our business hours, to attempt to assist you so you wouldn't have to wait through the long Labor Day weekend. During the phone call you were extremely rude and then you decided to use a derogatory term as a name for our representative. At that time she informed you that the call was over. We have a zero tolerance policy for such actions, as we do not tolerate customers using derogatory terms towards our staff. Additionally, the lady you spoke with is not a manager nor did she make that assertion, but none the less she deserves respect, which you were not willing to give her. She handled the situation very well considering the amount of hate and anger you were directing at her. In addition to you not taking responsibility for your own mistake, even when we offered to assist through our policies, you leave a libelous review. Interesting that you ordered 3 times from us over the past 2 years, yet as soon as you make an error and try to blame us, we are "garbage". I trust that any past and future customers of ours that are reading your review will see how misdirected it is. I hope you are able to find some peace within yourself.

THINK TWICE before ordering from them
I ordered 4 blinds. I’ve ordered blinds before but not through this company. I KNOW a how to submit the correct sizes. All the blinds fit the windows perfect, so therefor I ordered the right sizes. The valances came waaaaay too short. When I contacted them with 3 different problems they blamed me for ordering the wrong size! Ummmm you don’t order the valance they make it to fit for you. They were rude in the email response… now mind you the hardware SHOWS on top with the valance on. It should cover the hardware… you see the metal clamps….they said I should have ordered a wrap around…. Ok these are INSIDE mounting. I don’t need wrap around. I sent pictures of all the problems and they wanted more pictures and not sent the way I sent them, I had specific orders to send them as an attachment and not in line…. One blind is completely crooked. They then sent me instructions how to fix it.. ok we have to now fix our own blind…… one side was completely lower than the other. By now we were so fed up with it my husband took it apart and had to fix it- nothing to the way they instructed us to do. The valance rubs the wand… I have NEVER ever had a wand that rubs the valance. They said this is normal. I would reconsider this company! Sometimes cheaper isn’t always better. I knew I should have went with the other company I went through 7 yrs ago… we had one blind messed up and no questions asked- they sent us a new blind…. You get what you pay for!
***** 3/11/2022***** update… the company contacted us by phone and worked things out. We did get a replacement blind for the broken one and we got a new valance for the other one just the other day. It fits perfect now. I’m not sure whyyyyy they cut the original one so short. You could see the brackets straight on, now you don’t. This is how it should have been cut in the first place.
This company is the “middle man” so please take that into consideration as well.
Once the gentleman spoke with my husband and worked things out it was handled in a professional manner. So thank you for all your help!

We are sorry that you are not fully satisfied. You sent us 3 emails on Saturday, to which we sent 3 separate replies during our business hours on Monday. Your first email asked about the valance touching the wand at the top. We replied that it is common for that to occur, due to how the wand mechanism holds the wand and how the valance hangs on the valance clips. Keep in mind that we are a retailer, not a manufacturer. For the most part, we sell the same exact products as our competitors, we just sell them for less. In your second email you had sent pictures of an installed blind and stated that the slats were not level. We replied that during shipping some components can shift and we provided some simple troubleshooting. If that troubleshooting did not work, then we asked that you notify us, so we could contact the manufacturer to get the issue resolved. That would have been with a no charge remake. In your third email you stated that another blind had similar out of level slats and you stated that the valances on two blinds were too short and you stated that they need to be 31". Those blinds were ordered as 30 1/4", Inside Mount, and you ordered the valances as "No Side Returns (Flush Inside Mount)", so those valances should be 30 1/8" width to fit inside the window opening, for a flush inside mount. For the unlevel blind we asked that you refer to the previous reply and attempt the troubleshooting, and again to notify us if the troubleshooting did not work, so we could get it resolved with the manufacturer. For the valances we explained how you had ordered them and that according to how they are made, which is explained on the option that you selected, that they are 1/8" less width than the ordered width, so they should be 30 1/8" width, not 31" which you stated. Your pictures showed that you did not have the proper 3 1/2" of mounting depth for a blind with a flush inside mount valance. Due to that your brackets would be visible on the sides, because the valance is not flush inside the opening as intended for the options you ordered. We explained that we could get pricing to re-order the valances at a wider size or one common valance to cover both blinds in the opening. None of that was intended or stated to be rude, it was just informational facts of what was ordered and how we could help correct it. We never said that you had to order "wrap around" valances. We also did not request new/additional pictures, we simply asked that if the troubleshooting did not work, to email us the line item number of the blinds with the issues and to re-send the pictures in that email as attachments (this way they send as higher quality), and labeled so the manufacturer could easily identify each blind. Since it appears that the troubleshooting did not work, then please email us that information, so we can get the issues resolved with the manufacturer (that information is required for the manufacturer to properly identify the blinds and the issue). We will also contact you on Wednesday to further discuss the issues. Thank you!

Use extreme caution if using this…
I did not make an error measuring and being called "untruthful" is the same type of response I was getting when I let them know the blind I received was not what I ordered. Award blinds was making it so difficult making my order right I gave up.. not worth all the trouble.. I think they count on that.. Use extreme caution if using this company. If you buy it you're done. My blind arrived warped and shorter then I requested. When I reached out I met with defensive, unhelpful customer service. Photos were requested and when I sent them they asked for more. The effort was time consuming so I gave up and tossed the blind. There is such heavy competition with window options, use someone else and save yourself the grief.

Unfortunately, this review is not truthful. This order has a customer measuring error and we made several attempts to get the correct measurements from the customer to assist her in getting a new shade that will fit her opening correctly. We understand that it is easy to be angry about an error and to then leave negative reviews blaming the company. However, we are still open to working with this customer to correct the measuring error.
Edit (9/20/21): The customer changed their review text today, so this edit is to address that. In their edit, the customer stated that they did not make a measuring error. Our proof of the measuring error is based on multiple pieces of information that the customer provided to us, all of which correlate the measuring error. That is not information that we created, the customer provided it to us. The customer also stated that we were, "making it so difficult making my order right I gave up". We offered the customer the following three options (via email and/or voicemail):
1. We offered to remake the shade as originally ordered, at no cost to the customer. Of course, if the customer did make a measuring error then this shade would also not fit correctly. (This would take no effort by the customer).
2. We offered to remake the shade with the correct width measurement, the customer just had to provide it to us. (Re-measuring would take at most a few minutes).
3. We offered to send a representative to the customer's house to re-measure correctly for her. This is only possible because she is relatively close to our office (approximately 2-hours away). (This would take minimum effort by the customer, as we would be the ones having to drive 4 hours in total to re-measure for her).
The customer ignored/declined all the above offers. She instead repeatedly said we were unhelpful and chose to leave negative reviews about us. As stated above, we are still willing to assist this customer. If she would rather continue editing her review, instead of working with us, that is her choice.

Wait 6 to 7 weeks to still be disastisified.
After receiving our blinds after a month and half we opened our well awaited packages to begin putting up our blinds. We purchased 490$ in 5 sets of 2.5 inch blinds. First of all one the the sets of blinds had the drop cord and wand on the wrong side small but didn't match the other units.. Next they sent us 8 metal screws to put up the blinds.. Each set of blinds requires 6 screws minimal.. We were then told they don't deal with the packaging or making of the blinds its another company and they would have to get with them to receive new screws?? After paying what we paid you would think something so important to putting up blinds would be included. So they want us to wait for another set of screws ?? another few weeks ?? Really??? I will never purchase from this 3rd party company again and I advise all to use another company to purchase products.. Maybe a company that stands by their so called product they don't make, or ship, or provide.. just a home for telemarketers I assume.

We apologize that the manufacturer did not include enough screws for installation, it was a simple oversight that was not intentional. As stated in our email reply, which was sent after hours on a holiday, we said that we would have the manufacturer send you the screws.
You replied that it is "bull" and that you already purchased screws. So, we replied and asked that you email us the receipt for the screws to see what we could do, even though our policies clearly state that in the event of missing parts, they will be re-sent and that we cannot pay for parts that you choose to buy. The reason it is policy to not pay for parts that a customer purchases, is that anyone can claim a screw is missing and request payment. No companies pay for customer purchased parts, yet we offered to see what could be done if you would email us the receipt, which you refused to do, indicating that the screws were most likely not missing in the first place. Policies are agreed to during checkout, to protect both the customer and us. Sadly, you would rather slander a company that made every effort to assist, than to accept the assistance.
Additionally, yes, we are a retailer, we are not a manufacturer. This is the same for our competitors, as they are not manufacturers either. Not once in your emails did you mention a mistake on a product, which seems odd that you would point out missing screws but not a product issue. Upon picture proof of the issue, the product would be remade correctly at no cost to you, if it was really made incorrectly.
We also apologize that due to COVID-19 manufacturer production times are running longer than normal, as the safety of manufacturer workers is the highest priority. However, your order shipped exactly within the estimated shipping dates that we provided on your order status, matching the estimated production times listed on our website. We apologize that you expected the product faster than we stated it would take. Thank you for your understanding during the global pandemic.

Samples never arrived
Samples never arrived. Contact with company for infos and Customer service was extremly rude. I don’t know if it is a shade store or a shadey business. It should be avoided at all cost.
Response from AwardBlinds.comMay 29, 2018
We are sorry to hear that you did not receive the free samples. You contacted us twice after ordering the samples and we explained to you that the samples were mailed from our sales office the business day after you requested them, We also explained that the samples are sent via the USPS mail and typically take 8 business days to arrive in California, where you live, and that if you did not receive them within that time frame to simply contact us and we would resend the free samples. Both times you contacted us prior to the typical delivery time, and both times you threatened to review us poorly because you did not have the samples yet.
After that we did not hear from you until just prior to this review, where again, you threatened us and stated that you did not want to do business with us because you did not receive the samples. Unfortunately, it seems that the USPS lost the samples in transit but as stated twice previously, we would have re-sent them if you had simply notified us that they did not arrive, instead you chose to email us threats.
Due to your repeated threats we informed you that we agreed, that we should not do business together. We as a company sell custom made products. Custom products require a customer to have a level of patience for production to complete and for the customer to be level headed in-case a rare issue arises. If a person makes threats prior to placing an order we will not sell to that person. You made threats over lost mail, something that we have zero control over. We do not do business with entitled, rude and threatening people. Our actual customers know that we work hard for them and that we provide great customer service.
