Never rent a car at Miami airport. I rented a car for 43 days. When I picked up the car I was told it was an extended rental ( more than a month) and only gave me a contract for the first 28 days. I was told to come back to the airport to change cars after 28 days . Crazy! By that time I was in Tampa ( 300 miles from Miami Airport. After calling customer service several times and visiting an Avis agency I was told I could keep the car and a second contract was going to replace the first one after 28 days. When I returned the car at the end of the rental I didn’t get any receipt ( I was told that the invoice will arrive by e mail once I was in Europe ) . They debited 156€ to my credit card. No explanation whatsoever. I feel like someone has taken illegally 156€ from my wallet. I am still fighting to stop the payment. We’ll see. My advice : NEVER RENT A CAR AT AVIS MIAMI AIRPORT.

Wir haben Avis als Mietwagenfirma genommen weil wir dachten wir sind hier gut aufgehoben aber alles andere ist der Fall. Es fing ja alles an, dass wir den Mietwagen 2 Tage früher brauchten und dann ging der Horror los. 24. April - 1,5 in der Warteschlange - Angebot am Schalter (von einem Mitarbeiter der überhaupt keine Lust hatte) 300 Euro für 2 Tage einen anderen Kleinwagen. Keinerlei Unterstützung oder so wie man günstiger an einen Mietwagen kommen kann. Nur die Aussage: Dann nehmen sie doch ein TAXI!!!!! - online geschaut: 105 Euro, also da gebucht -wieder 1,5 in der Warteschlange - Mietwagen erhalten mit penetrantem Gestank nach Haschisch 26. April - Mietwagen zurück gebracht - ursprünglichen Mietwagen abgeholt. Nach Verlassen des Flughafengeländes bemerkt dass der Wagen einen leeren Tank hatte und einen Steinschlag vorne - Bilder gemacht und Avis sofort in Kenntnis gesetzt 1. Mai - Nach mehreren Hin und Her die Rückmeldung Ihrer Kollegen dass wir den Mietwagen am 6. Mai in Newark mit leerem Tank und Steinschlag zurückbringen sollen und uns nichts berechnet wird 8. Mai Festgestellt dass einfach 106,10 Doller von meiner Kreditkarte abgebucht wurden. Ich habe mich auf einen schönen Urlaub gefreut. Stattdessen nur Stress mit Avis. Daher meine aktuelle Bewertung: NIE WIEDER!!!!

I hate them, they always rent the card which is not avaible in branch. I pay 100 but they give me toyota coralla. Dont recommend

Do not hire a car from Avis, Fraud alert I hired a car from Avis Miami International Airport for 6 weeks. My card details were then fraudulently used for another car hire. I have informed Avis and the Card issuer and have yet to get my money back

Rented a fully prepaid car from their LAX location. Declined all extras. Declined the upgrade they tried to push on me. I sign everything, verifying no extras are added. Get the receipt emailed - no extra charges showing on there. The lady at the desk then asks for the key back, saying "that car is broken". Gives me a different key to a similar vehicle. Well, turns out this was an upgrade that she didn't approve. No receipt and no information provided for this upgrade either, just a nice 190$ surcharge when we leave the car back. Been trying to contact their support for almost a month now - ghosted. Next step is to file a chargeback for fraud. Thank god I paid with a creditcard.

Booked an SUV for a weekly rate. Location only had sedans. He agent told me the rate was lower. I only used the car for one day vs a week but because I selected prepay, (big mistake), I got no credit for returning early and learned the sedan was more expensive than the SUV. The customer service rep when I called to understand the charge was arrogant and condescending. Awful experience. Never again

Beim Service-Desk in Fort Meyers hatten wir alle zusätzlichen Leistungen abgelehnt, dennoch wurden die beiden teuersten Leistungen selektiert. Die Unterschriften wurden von uns erschlichen. Eine Reklamation wurde abgelehnt, da die Unterschriften vorhanden waren.

Hi Just learned from my daughter in San Juan PR Avis, trying to locate my lost prescription sunglasses, they looked 3 different places and your associate told her they normally throw things in garbage to avoid filling paperwork! Believe me, if this is your policy to protect passengers property while in your parking where you turn your car is, then just letting you know, your preferred member services has much to improve and I will never use your services ever again! I will leave in trip advisor, google and corporate, a very nasty review for professionals and regular customers to view about your leftover property procedures! My prescription sunglasses were worth more than your rental! Shame on all of you! My Rx lenses were $700!!!! Rafael S Lezcano PS tried calling San Juan Avis #, half a dozen times, no answer, same for lost and found, no answer, suggest another company that cares about your property in their property, not outside!
