Doesn't seem effective on mice.

Hi Mark, Thanks for reaching out to us with your feedback. Mice can be difficult, especially if they find the trap difficult to reach. I would love the opportunity to help. Please email [email protected] and in the meantime, please visit our Success Guide: https://www.automatictrap.com/success-guide for installation tips and the keys to success with our trap. Thanks, Ty

This is the best trap I have ever purchased and used. Our farm house was overran with little fuzzy critters. After the trap was installed we're down to zero in our house. We might have to get rid of the cat because she doesn't have a job now. =) We plan on getting a few for our barn.

I did recommend these traps to our local coop store and they started stocking them along with co2 cartridges, I have helped several friends set them on a 2 by 8 board and frame so you can easily move them around the yard freestanding , I put dry dog food in mine as that seems to attract them best in my yard ,thanks Colleen Work

I stupidly bought two traps, as due to a big construction project on the adjacent property my yard in San Francisco was suddenly overrun with rats. I followed the mounting and food loading instructions scrupulously. For an investment of about $300 for the traps and supplies, the traps killed one rat, and one mouse over a 6 month period. Whoop de doo. I could have done that with a $5 spring trap from the hardware store. I love the concept of a trap without poison, and that it does not need to be re-set each time, but these traps did not work well enough for me to justify the expense.

Hi Sharon, Thanks for taking the time to review our product. I can certainly see how that would be frustrating and would like to extend my help, however possible. Could you please email me [email protected]? I'd like to understand your site better and help in any way possible. Success varies for each trapping site and there could be a few things preventing your success such as placement, and food competition –– to name a few. Thanks, Ty
Wayne
I haven't caught a damned thing with these things

Out of curiosity, have you tried using our success guide to set up your traps? https://www.automatictrap.com/success-guide Pre-feeding, placement, and detection are all crucial to the success of your trap. I would like to help escalate this, can you please email [email protected]? Thanks, Ty

Great concept, but our rats learned super quickly to avoid this. While the counter showed numerous "hits," I only ever found 1 deceased rat and our rat population never really decreased. I did read the literature and it said that we may not find many dead ones, as other vermin would likely drag off the bodies, but I didn't find this to be the case, as the rat paths were well-traveled directly underneath the system, no matter where I set it. Ultimately I reverted back to a black plastic snap trap, which I set right next to the A24, and caught a good number using that old-fashioned method and sunflower seeds as bait. I even changed out the bait area, modifying it to hold sunflower seeds rather than the "chocolate" syrup provided, and still no luck, even though I was catching several a week with the snap trap and same bait, set right next to the A24. I still like the concept, but our rats thumbed their nose at it, so for me, a waste of a good deal of money. It now sits in my garage, dusty.
