They have been consistently increasing my parents home owners insurance and I know it's was due to them being elderly. Their policy went up to over $7000 a year in the City of Detroit. Their insurance is in their mortgage so they just paid the bill until they advised me their mortgage was going up again and i took a deeper look. It was Martin agency and Auto Owners doing.They are the worst. My parents had been with them since 1992 with no claims and this is how they get treated. Don't do business with them or look at your bill.

Auto owners canceled my elderly mothers policy 6 months ago without notification. Reason was non payment. HOWEVER payment was made on time and refunded yesterday. When I called I received nonchalant customer service and offer to investigate this. Hello State Farm!

Scam or insurance? AutoOwners tells you they will pay a claim. You then receive a check for half the amount of the claim along with a list of excuses why the claim was not paid – the car is too old, the parts were overpriced, the repair labor was too expensive. Sounds more like a scan to me.

Auto owners are worst company ever i dont recommend any one to insure their homes with them. You pay them tons of money on good faith and when you file a roof claim and provide a damage and weather report proofing their is hail and damage.in your home they behave like cowards back up and try to find anything to deny your claim. The home insurance group are like a gang backing each other up and refusing to meet their obligations to cover your claim. Dont ever waste a dime ensuring with them let alone your time and effort for fairness and justice . It is.simply a do not care attitude from forest claims.group with auto owners. I had auto owners insurance for quite some time. this past March I had to file a claim for storm damage to my roof. The person that came out Did a horrible job? He was supposed to check for hail damage, which he never did. He never got pictures of all the water damage in the attic. I feel because im a woman (Single Mom) or because im not all that knowledgeable about all this he took advantage of me. He even told me that my foof looks pretty and I'll probably have years left to. I requested that another person come out and redo the inspection. This was after being told my deductible exceeds the amount of the repairs. The person That I spoken to his name was Todd S. I live in Illinois and county is Kendall. He was extremely rude and said that he is not sending anybody else that if I can send him proof of damage, then he will Have someone come out and relook at it. A few months later, we had another awful storm, and my roof started leaking And a lot of my shingles Had wind damage The frist guy came out only did pictures of the outside. Because the roof was mositure because it rained. They hired a 3rd party company. He did the inspection thankfully my contractor was up there with him. He kept missing damages. So Todd again tells me that my damages does not exceed my deductible. I had asked about the hail damage. Because I know this time they took pictures of it. I asked him double checked on the hail damage. They didnt even include it with my estimate. He relooks at it all and says, oh yeah, that must have been an oversight. I have to relook at this and get back to you. I find out from the contractor that they're going to only pay for the replacement of 45 shingles. My town has an ordinance that shingles cannot be replaced that everything needs to be repaired. Also, the shingles that I have are no longer made. So they would be using totally different kind to what I have now, So my roof will probably look like a checkerboard. This is unacceptable. Very, very poor Service to their customers.

When it comes to having a conversation about a claim, these guys are the worst. The frontline customer service reps I have no problems with, they are nice and polite but when it comes to the adjusters and more specifically the CAT adjuster team they are the worst. I have a homeowner who I worked with who we had 5 different subs come out and work on this project, but they still regarded the claim as minimal coordination. How is roofing , siding, windows, pouring concrete , fencing, brand new shed, and coordination with suppliers considered minimal coordination? When trying to communicate this with Auto Owners CAT team they only wanted to downplay the size of the project that it’s not a big $$ amount job. That still doesn’t take away from the coordination of 5-6 different companies to come in and do work. Of course because there was no interior work they like to think it’s easy and that we have only 2 subs doing all the work. Just stay away from auto owners if possible, they are terrible when it comes to working with their adjusters. Do not recommend to anyone that wants their property taken care of.

We have been customers of Auto Owners for 5 years, we recently relocated to Missouri and converted our builders risk policy to home owners, along with all of our vehicles and also our umbrella policy. After 3 months we received a cancellation notice of our homeowners policy due to an unacceptable business on our property. We have a small distribution Company and the only business conducted on our property is the parking of our small ford transit box truck. All other business is conducted via phone or internet. We tried to reason with this company but to no avail. Save yourself the aggravation, believe all the negative reviews. These people are unreasonable.

The problem with this company is they spend money on attorneys when it’s not necessary rather than try to work with their customers. This company will hire an attorney for small claims $1000 issue rather then try and settle or work with their customers. Leave as fast as you can they are horrible.
