For Canadians - this is not covered by your provincial plan
I am from Canada, retired on a fixed income. I did not realize that I was on a US site when I called. I hesitated when it wanted credit card info and I obviously misread how much would be charged. Since health care in Canada is free I would not have agreed to anything more than a token charge for the phone service expecting I would have to give my health card number. I will admit that dealing with Dr. Li was very good (5 stars) and when I asked where she was located, I was my surprised with the California (I believe it was California) answer. I explained I was from Canada. She provided me with a number for Canadian doctor who was part of "askadoctor". Instead of calling the Canadian doctor, I decided to go to the emergency department at the local hospital (it was free and probably needed to be seen anyway). I was shocked when I noticed the charge on my credit card. I chastised myself for not paying close attention to the cost (my bad). I didn't think anymore until I saw the same charge on my card the following month. I discovered that somehow I was enrolled in a monthly plan. When I contacted them, I was promptly refunded the second charge which was a very pleasant surprise. That reversed my negative feeling towards them and became impressed by their responsiveness. Well done.
