I liked the experience a lot but did not like how I was charged $70 when the computer said $5 (refundable).

Provided factual answers to my questions. US doctor so some advice wasn’t possible in Canada ie. didn’t know if meds suggested were available here. Advice for me to fly to US to get care given challenges with my specialist, was unrealistic for many reasons. (I can hardly leave my house with symptoms let alone fly, cost, and had no understanding that Canadians are boycotting travel to US. Response: “why? Do you not like us?” - good grief. No, it is one small thing we can do to protest being threatened with annexation and imposition of unreasonable tariffs to bully us into submission). I left the call with my fears about taking this specific class of medication still firmly in place. Perhaps there is no way to alleviate because the meds I am likely going to be put on are potent with significant side effects (including increased cancer risk, suppressed immune system, etc.). The overall message was the same as I have received by other doctors: I need to take the medication. I find doctors aren’t great at truly listening and responding to patient fears. Her focus was on facts not the fear. She did validate my experience with my gastroenterologist was not appropriate, though.Appreciated how quickly I could speak to someone.

I was experiencing really weird symptoms after my cardiologist admitted l had artery blockage of 50% but could not touch it yet. Chest and throat pain the sweats and then chills all night. I became a little bit uncomfortable and did not want to go to ER. But did not want to do anymore damage if l was having some kind of heart problem. So l called and after answering her questions and filling her in on my reasons for seeing a cardiologist. She assured me that the blockage was not the problem and l was likely having an infection of some type. So that second opinion of 50% is not enough to risk an invasive procedure. I decided to follow the advice took 2 baby aspirin 81mg. And half of a beta blocker l was on to control BP. And a couple Tylenol for any temperatures that were occurring. It worked the on again off again chills and sweats were gone in just a few hours and she said to have a ginger tea to relax my stomach and calm my nerves. So l did this and was relieved of symptoms that l never gave ER another thought. I am still seeing my cardiologist to get answers to the rest of the original complaint which was an arrhythmia and long recovery time after trying to work out or doing anything with the slightest bit of physical exertion. I was glad not to have to ended up in ER for 12 hours for a minor thing that caused me to think to much. Even feeling as poorly as l did jumping to an answer was wrong but an easy second opinion by a medical professional was the right way to go. I am quite sure the ERs are busy enough and my insurance won’t miss footing a 1000.00$ bill. And l for sure won’t miss waiting in the lobby with a super good chance of getting really sick and then a customary 8-12 hours running a few basic tests and releasing me. Let alone the feeling of being scrutinized as weather or not you are a drug seeker or not. That goes on for everyone these days because there are a ton of them these days. But being there for legit symptoms and in pain and being put on uncomfortable wait times even when the ER is not under any hi volume beds full situation makes you not want to ever have to use them. One of the top reasons l decided to call. Thank you for the professionalism and giving me your thoughts and options.
