I used Asana for my company, and while it works reasonably well for project and task management, the overall experience was disappointing. The pricing feels less transparent than advertised, with paid features becoming difficult to remove after the trial. The annual subscription and per-seat pricing were also more expensive than initially expected. I was particularly frustrated with the renewal process after attempting to cancel my subscription. Getting a clear resolution from customer support was difficult and time-consuming. For a business, I expect straightforward pricing, transparent subscription terms, and responsive support. Based on my experience, I would be hesitant to use Asana again.

Disappointing for Larger Teams
I've tried using Asana for managing my team of ten, but it just doesn’t cut it for us. It gets cluttered quickly, and some features feel limited. Plus, navigating through the interface can be slow at times. Not the comprehensive tool I hoped for.

Too much for simple tasks
Tried Asana with our team for task tracking, but it didn’t really work for us. There are loads of features and it just felt a bit over the top for everyday stuff.
Simple things take more steps than they should and keeping everything updated started to feel like extra work. In the end we switched to something simpler.

Looks good, but feels heavy to use
I used Asana for work to manage tasks and projects. At first it looked nice and organised, but once I started using it daily, it felt a bit heavy and overcomplicated.
There are a lot of options and settings, which sounds good, but in practice it slows things down. Simple tasks take more clicks than they should, and keeping everything updated feels like extra work. Some useful features are also locked behind paid plans, which didn’t help.
After a while I realised I was spending more time managing the tool than actually getting work done, so I stopped using it and moved on

Unethical
Overall, an ok system but there is zero phone support, none. This is also a really unethical company, they do either monthly or annual renewals and if you need HIPAA compliance the price more than quintuples, because they know they can get you that way. If you do not let them know you don't want unused seats 30 days before the "renewal" (an invoice they email you) then you cannot change seat numbers "mid cycle." Stay away.

Asana - Caution with Upgrades Scams.
Asana
I have been using Asana for more than 10 years. It worked like a charm, and in general the free version is perfect for simple tasks to work on with overseas teams.
It functioned flawlessly, and generally, the free version is ideal for handling basic tasks with international teams.
Pricing: The pricing is very fair, especially for my team of five people. But here’s the trick that Asana uses to scam you: They make you pay for a plan for active and inactive team members. For example, over a period of five years, you employed ten people at your company. But only 5 remain; they make you pay for the 10 employees. To see your team, you must pay, as Asana Customer Service won't grant you access. Can you imagine how many people had worked in my company in the past 10+ years? My company employed more than 30 individuals. So they may have paid me initially for 10. I was then able to clean up the list and bring it down to my five current employees. Yet they won’t offer one a credit for these extra inactive team/memberaccounts. To avoid this scam, first sign up for the monthly plan, then downgrade.
AI: They sell it as the top project, but it is nothing close to being or working seamlessly like other platforms already using AI offer. They offer 15 days for a free trial, but it’s not enough.
Sales team: To contact the sales team is really hard. The only way is via email. Their average response rate is 24+ hours. So one has to be ready to WAIT. After my 15-daytrial concluded, ASANA basically limited the access to the platform. Anything that tries to be somewhat like ASANA AI will be blocked. If you are using Asana AI with current projects, it is advisable to create a duplicate so that your work remains unaffected after your trial ends. But you must wait 24 hours for the first response, then another 24 hours for the next, etc.
