Initiating service is a nightmare.
Artspan is a fairly good site for artists. The headache is initiating the service. I have had two domains and trying to get them to work on Artspan has been a nightmare. Lots of fingerpointing between GoDaddy (the domain provider) and Artspan who uses Cloudflare servers. I am now up and running and am happy with the way the site looks, but I still wish tech support was better.

Please let me know who this is and I will consult with our domains expert. I cannot imagine any of our people saying "not my problem" It is unfortunate for us and for our people who work very hard that "fairly good site" was discounted and the domains issue was brought to the fore. Pls let me (Eric) know at [email protected]. One thing to remember: smaller companies like ours generally are a lot more helpful than bigger companies. Domains can be difficult to work with.... much more than anything else we do. And our business is not domains - but we do our best to help everyone as we have been doing for the last 23 years. It seems the reviewer may have registered the domains with goDaddy but did not follow the instructions regarding DNS (Domain Name Servers).

Lack of prices
I am a long time collector, looking to "finish off" my collection before I reach my stopping age (lol). I sincerely hope the artists that list on Artspan read this, because the review has nothing to do with Artspan itself and everything to do with the individual artists. I am fed up with prices not being listed. Period. If you cannot bother listing a price, I cannot bother spending the time contacting you. If your prices vary, based on your interpretation of what someone may/can pay after talking to them (who/what they collect, and a short conversation can elicit a lot of information), you're wrong. This seems to be coming a more and more common practice. I'll stick to someone that is confident and prices, every time. Thank you for continuing to give artists a reasonable venue for displaying their work, Artspan!

Sue Ann, As Artspan founder and director, I could not agree with you more! I don't understand why artists are reluctant to post pricing, and, without a price, the artwork does not even show in the Marketplace. I am working on this, trying to explain the importance of posting a price (not to mention that they can then offer prospective buyers the Augmented Reality Live Preview - a critically important feature allowing buyers to view art - at scale - in whatever room they are standing. Hope you come back in a few months and you can see a lot more work (some of our most interesting artists don't have prices). Also agree about consistency in pricing, it show professionalism.
