Artisan HardwareReviews of artisanhardware.com

Material for the sliding door hardware was good quality and arrived quickly.Pricing seemed fair and customization options worked for us.We liked the selection of accessories. The biggest difficulty is that the parts come with no directions, no description of what the pieces are for. The customer service is helpful if you call but, as I ordered this for an installer to put in at a job site, it would be nice to get a packing list and a basic blowup of where things go. We didn't even know what some pieces were as they were not in the description of the kit I ordered. We will see how it all goes together. I will probably use them again if the final installation goes well.

Overall we are pleased with our sliding door from Artisan Hardware, however we did experience a few issues. Initially we received the wrong door, but Artisan Hardware was quick to take care of the error and it only cost us a little extra time waiting for it to be delivered. Our second issue was once we hung the door we discovered the door was bowed and did have a small crack in the wood. It took a little planning but we hung the side with the crack against the wall and have made it work. I am happy to support a product made in the USA and we have had many compliments on the door. We stained the door before we hung it and by staining it ourselves were able to guarantee the color was what we wanted.

We've been really happy with Artisan Hardware. Well made quality hardware at decent prices and prompt shipping. Easy installation instructions.

We love the end product! We chose their midcentury design and we get a lot of compliments on the uniqueness of the doors. We had a little snag because the doors they initially sent us were actually damaged. Artisan Hardware was quick to fix their mistake and sent us new doors within a few weeks.

I will give the products and service 5 stars! The instructions and installation videos require more work however, a rating of 4. I am a finish carpenter and the nuances that affect the install would have been helpful. It is true that no set of instructions or video can capture all of the different conditions that affect install. A portion of the instructions that come with the product and certainly the videos, should address 'what ifs' that tell us what we do not know; there are some very important relationships that exist between the width of the door, the door stop and the placement of the door guides - at the bottom - that should be called out. I installed my first two sets in my own house using doors that I made. Had I attempted to install my first door in a client's house I might be performing this job twice... But again, the products and service are top notch and I will purchase from you gain. Michael

I built a barn door for our bedroom and love our hardware fro Artisan. The only problem I ran into was that the predrilled rails are drilled on center and the holes on the end for the stop were not the spacing for normal beams so I actually needed a longer rail then they had specified. However, their customer service was extremely helpful and gave me many options to get the rail up perfectly.

Nice door but better directions for hanging would have been super helpful!

I ordered the product in kit form. Product was as described, limited instructions to assemble. Was told to watch a YouTube video produced by them. I am very handy assembling any kind of product, this was a challenge due to the fact they did not supply any paper instructions, the video skipped over some of the assembly. I watched several times, was able to figure out and it now looks and works great.
