Overpriced service and complete lack of itemized billing transparency
I recently had ARS/Rescue Rooter replace a gas water heater (contracted through Lowe's) after severe basement flooding. They charged $4,047 for the job—far exceeding reasonable retail and installation costs. To make matters worse, they have consistently refused to provide a clear, line-item breakdown of the charges for labor, materials, and permits. Instead, the billing included unrequested line items ($1,200 labor warranty when AO's warranty is 6 years) and a total lack of transparency. I have been forced to file formal disputes with the Indiana Attorney General, the BBB, and my financial institution. If you value fair pricing, clear documentation, and honest communication, don't press the "Installation" button on Lowe's checkout!!
