Before ordering
Before ordering, I read countless one-star reviews and honestly thought people were exaggerating. I assumed a company that markets itself as a luxury brand couldn’t possibly provide customer service that bad. I was wrong. This has been one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had. I ordered a diffuser through Aroma360’s subscription program and received only the fragrance oil. After waiting the full shipping window with absolutely no communication, I had to contact customer support multiple times just to find out that the diffuser—the main product I actually purchased—was out of stock. Not once did Aroma360 proactively notify me. Not when they realized they couldn’t fulfill the order. Not after the shipping deadline passed. Not after I had already contacted them by email and phone to update my shipping address. Instead, I had to chase them for answers, only to discover a week later that the product was never available in the first place. Meanwhile, I was already receiving emails about my next subscription shipment despite not even receiving the original diffuser. When I asked to cancel everything, customer service repeatedly responded that they “didn’t have access” to subscriptions or couldn’t make billing exceptions. Somehow the company can charge customers for subscriptions, but apparently no one in customer support has the authority to fix them. To make matters worse, they expected me to package up and return the fragrance oil—even though I had already opened it because I was reasonably expecting the diffuser to arrive. They also expected me to navigate cancellation procedures that could result in an $80 cancellation fee, despite the fact that they were the ones unable to fulfill the order. At every step, the burden was placed on me to solve problems created by Aroma360. This is not how a luxury company operates. Luxury brands communicate with customers when there are inventory issues. They proactively resolve problems. They empower their customer service teams to make things right. Aroma360 did none of those things. The most frustrating part is that every negative review I read beforehand described the same themes: poor communication, subscription problems, and customer service that cannot actually resolve issues. I convinced myself those reviews couldn’t represent the typical experience. Unfortunately, they did. I cannot comment on the diffuser because Aroma360 never shipped it. I can comment on the buying experience, the communication, and the customer service, and based on those alone I cannot recommend ordering from this company. There are too many excellent home fragrance brands that treat their customers with respect to justify taking the risk.
