Terrible customer service and embarrassingly bad website user experience for 2026 (heck, it would've been bad 10 years ago) My emails to customer service have gone unanswered for a week. They sent me an email about my claim, said I had to log in to read it. The login didn't work, so I tried to reset my password. Error: password cannot be reset, please contact customer service (how the heck is that possible in 2026?) So I contact customer service, and a week later and I'm still locked out of my account and they're not answering their emails. The owners of this company should be embarrassed.

After 4 years of paying premiums without any claims other than annual cleanings, I had a tooth fracture and the filling fell out. The Dentist determined that there was no way to save the tooth & a crown was required. Ameritas denied the claim citing thier "professional dentist opinion that a crown was not needed. Do not waste your money on this insurance. Cheaper to pay for cleanings out of pocket and self insure. They will do anything to deny a claim, even if there is no basis. DISGUSTING

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE WORST AS A SENIOR CITIZEN WITH MANY YEARS OF INSURANCE COVERAGE THIS HAS TO BE THE WORST COMPANY!!! IF YOU ARE DECIDING ON DENTAL, DON'T COME HERE BUT THEN AGAIN LIKE ANNETTE A SUPERVISOR SAID WHO CARES!!!

Two items: 1. Customer service is below competitors, with lack of knowledge and long wait times 2. Claims get rejected for reasons not in contract and are vague. The accountant at our dentist reported Ameritas requires more documentation to approve claims than their competitors, citing delta dental as the flagship in my state Not all was kept by the dentist, so now we have to wait another year to see if we are covered as they collect data Ameritas replied with a thanks. On the upside, it was just a thank you with no direct invitation to talk about the situation so I would need to sit on hold forever. Ameritas is playing the Trust pilot system. With a vague response they can still maintain thy “reacher out” I have already cancelled my policy and signed back on with Delta Dental. I urge you to NOT sign up for anything with this company. No integrity, and cannot sense a glimpse or morality

Terrible coverage at all levels.

Avoid this company at all costs. Had periodontal surgery that was necessary (constant infections, bone loss in my jaw) and they’re claiming my surgery wasn’t actually necessary after being “reviewed by a licensed Dentist”. Sure. Ef ya’ll and your mommas.

Worst company ever for fusion plan. I have had the plan for 4 years and never used the plan. So I decided to use it for my vision for the first time in 4 years. I filled out the claims form and filed the receipts via their portal with their representative on their website. I followed up 7 days later and representative on the phone said their no web drop box. Asked me to file the claim again. She asked the supervisor and explained to me “oh this is new to me I have been here for 2 years and did not know their was drop box for vision” and continued to state it does not work and file it again via mail or email. And hung up on me in the middle me asking for an email address as to where to resubmit the claims. It was very unprofessional and waste my time. I will ask the plan administrator to change policy for next year at November if possible.

Very poor customer service, extremely hard to reach a representative. I was hung up on in the middle of trying to attain info on a current policy after 10 minutes of navigating the commands to speak to a real person.
