I had about a year gap in health coverage between losing my Washington State Apple Care (Great coverage!) and joining Medicare. I signed up with Ambetter for reasons I can't remember now, and thankfully never need them for anything other than a wellness checkup with a doctor. When I signed up their customer service rep I talked to said I could continue to see my regular doctor, only to find I couldn't. Took a while to find another doctor to go to, as their website was extremely poor and basically unusable. When I did find a doctor my personal page on their website never showed the proper doctor once. It always tried to tell me I should see an OBGYN a half mile away (I'm male, btw) or a doctor over 25 to 50 miles away. When I tried to schedule a follow up appointment, it always assigned a different PA or NP, and I finally gave and cancelled the entire appointment. Highly incompetent company.

So I've had ambetter insurance for two years never used it till recently I went to a primary doctor visit.....they stuck me with the whole bill o called customer service and they said that the billing department coded the visit wrong and it needed to be changed....I spoke with the doctor and the billing department and they said that ambetter is notorious for doing things like this as to not pay for visits and this has happened quite often he said I gave up and payed for the visit my self....I guess I need to look for another insurance plan.

DO NOT CHOOSE AMBETTER INSURANCE! I chose this insurance even paid more because I needed something that would allow me to get coverage for a neurological group out of state and most of the big names didn’t. I ended up changing state residency and getting new insurance 6 months into the year because they fought so hard against everything they ordered. MRI’s ordered-they would approve cervical and lumbar but not thoracic. The anti-migraine medication was denied due be dissolving tablets when they felt I could swallow them while in a full body dystonic state. I attempted to get a reward card through their “benefits” and they conveniently held it until my plan expired so the reward card was voided. They do not have a way to contact customer service for medical questions or insurance questions without talking to someone (I suffer from dysphasia) I attempted to email or chat and would be answered by a bot that wouldn’t respond more than to say call customer service. I just can’t say it enough - HORRIBLE INSURANCE PLAN!

Customer service is trash. I called on a Sunday and went thru all the steps to be connected and then was told they were closed and to call back during normal business hours. And an abrupt click. No option to go back to the main menu since I just put all my info in. IF YOU KNOW YOU’RE CLOSED AND AREN’T GOING TO BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING AT THE BEGINNING OF THE CALL, WHYYYYYY HAAAAAAAVE UUUUUS ENTER ALL OUT BULLLLLLSH***********T! Terrible practice. I can’t wait for open enrollment. Not like there’s a decent insurance company that exists. You’re all trash.

They called me end of last year to see if I wanted the same plan, I said yes. The ambetter agent signed me up for an entirely different plan, which I paid the premium for upfront. When I found out it was wrong, I called back still within open enrollment period. As soon as you change plans, they are supposed to communicate with themselves to refund me the premium I never used for a plant hat hadn’t even went into effect yet. Instead, they switched my plan to yet another incorrect plan which I had to pay premium on again. Random bad plan started in January, another bad plan started in February. So now I’m out $50, and by the time they fixed it in April and made the insurance’s start date all the way back to January, I owed all 3 months of the new coverage for $180, and they still hadn’t given me my $50 back. So I called for a refund, they said 7-10 days. A month passes and I had to call AGAIN. They are supposed to do this without me having to ask. I have my insurance sales license and these people truly are 100% a joke, but I need the insurance. But I will not be dealing with them another year after this.

This company man... where do I even start. They tell u that ur getting a deductible back just for using them yet when I try to convert my points into cash to use for groceries or bills, im told ppl in missouri don't qualify. Yet, they don't tell u that til after u wasted all that time getting them as ur insurance. DONT USE THESE PPL! Pretty sure they just take ur personal info and scam you. I still haven't gotten my leaf blower I purchased back in like October. **YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED**

1-Doctors refused to send my medical bills to Ambetter because "ambetter makes it impossible to get paid" 2-Ambetter refused to allow me to self submit bills 3-Midway through the year my Pro-rated Healthcare.gov bill was changed 4-Ambetter makes it very difficult to cancel your coverage 5-They continued to charge me monthly for almost 6 months after they finally had allowed me to cancel

On or about April 13 2023 i recived notice that my premium was going to be going from 31.00 a month to v740 with the reason being I had failed to submit a 1850 tax paper I might tell you now I thought 3 times submitted paper work was adequate there response wasn't hey didn't get it simple form so I promptly told them that I didn't need there coverage that I had shoped around and found insurance 450 less than there's s c ao i here nuthingancel my policy so I here nuthing from them till June 13 the try to take 62 .something out of my account I'm like gota cancel autopsy they can deduct at there whim. So again did my due dillangce so I sold my house got my money and on July 13 2023 amberltter to two payments of 743 .68 for a total of 1468.30 I believe so that number they never answered but u can sometimes leave a message to it answers next to them wanting you to pay for something I'll use magazines be for u can get an operator and if you pass the line disconnects so imagine my surprise whe a mad named Matt answered the phone on the 3rdvring acts like my best friend got to his supervisor who says of course you fan give Mr Tenney his money back with no hassle mattvtells me it is a 30 day waiting period and I'll recive my check in 30 days with a confirmation number and he went over all of my information and I agree so the check should have been in my mailbox February 11th 2024 a week before I thought I didn't give them my new address I moved out of my home so I called back got another confirmation number this time from a girl who sounded just like Matt and her name was Matt and she's oh thank goodness she told us we have plenty of time it's a week before the paper check hasn't been issued yet here's a new confirmation number she started to say it would take another 30 days but she saw that my claim was already in and my check would be there February 11 which coincidental was on a Sunday no check 14 days paper I called them back I get another person who now tries to give me the runaround and her name is also May she apologize starts to tell me they will only give me one premium back because it was not their problem or their system and I would have my money in 72 hours but because I was a good customer they would automatically refund it to my debit card that I use I'm still waiting it is April 1st 2024 I'm going to call them again this afternoon I'm going to ask for as it says on the internet ask for filling and see if I can get anywhere from that but as for now they still have my money and they only was able to get it on my bank account at 1468.30 because I sold my house and my proceed is in my bank account bass they stole two months so that's not the end of my store so automatically somebody signed me up for ambetters health insurance and on December 31st they tried to remove 1600 and so many dollars I think it was another weird 68 number for insurance I did not sign up for so I automatically run on and when I saw the statement that they were going to take my 800 and some dollars on my bank account I said you're not my insurance company please do not do this and they did try to take it out it cost me 35 and 35 I'm bad Batman so there's my review my five stars I give him better so they'll read it and all of you get to read it in the algorithms because I don't know what kind of scam they are but I would like my money back and I feel that I'm going to text the credit union and see if I have grounds for fraud charges against them for taking out of my bank account without permission and trying to do it again without permission and see where I go through the bank helping me because obviously calling those numbers doesn't help thank you for reading this is true and just State the facts as I can my name is Wayne L Tenney April 1st 2024
