Researched for a pair of Teva slip on shoes and it was marked down 45%. Placed the order and my credit card was accepted, but with in minutes they rejected my order and got a email that said. "Your order was canceled due to security checks in place to protect your account. If you believe this was an error, please contact our team for assistance." I contacted their support team and was told their third party security software flagged me and rejects the order. I was told I could use another email address and credit card and that may fix the problem. I find this issue to be potentially very troubling as my credit record is over 800 and no new potential exposures on my side. At this point I'll be tracking my credit card to see when and if the credit comes back on the account. With the number of complaints being high with Als.com I'm looking at potential Credit Card fraud.

Update #2: Finally received my item, it was correct and exactly what I ordered. If Al's actually reads these reviews, my suggestion would be to COMMUNICATE with your customers, don't leave us guessing if orders have been received, and if there are delays. Update: after posting my review, I finally got a response, will update upon receipt of my item. Wish I'd read the reviews before I ordered, I know better! Ordered a pair of pants at a fantastic price, charge appeared on my card immediately, but no order confirmation. I checked the website, says I haven't placed any orders?? Then how in the hell did they get my cc#? I've tried repeatedly to contact customer service to resolve the issue, but I have yet to receive any kind of response. I'm working with my bank to get this charge reversed. Send the pants, refund my money, communicate, DO SOMETHING. The customer service at this place is nonexistent.

I have bought online purchases for years and years, this is one of those few times didn’t go smoothly. Bought a climbing harness, got it no problem. Tried it on ONCE, too small, so I asked for return, got the return label that same night, packed in a box (while they shipped in plastic) and shipped it the following day. Ordered same item next level size on the same night I requested return label. Today, got an email that my return was denied??? Reason: it was used. Like bruh, how you going to test a harness without using it? I tried it for 2mins to test how it felt. All the instruction manuals and tags are there! Called to explain, no luck. The person on the phone was kind and couldn’t do anything other than offered -20% for total product. Said something about safety. What an expensive experience to try a product on for 2 mins. Should have just bought to REI or backcountry, never had issue with them.

2 stars because they had in stock the socks I wanted, at least at time of order. I ordered 3 pair on their website. It was worth shipping fees with that amount. However, upon opening package, there were 2 pair, and what should've been 3rd pair was only 1 sock. Any sober staffer would've seen this when fulfilling order. I emailed them and they said they no longer had the socks in stock and would refund 1 pair of socks. That refund didn't include shipping costs and cost per pair of socks went up at least $2 a pair. Not worth the frustration.

I sent my brothers some MTB stuff for his birthday but the way the website is set up the pictures and the actual shirts don’t match up. So he got a shirt he hated and it want even the shirt I picked out. The store is amazing! But the website is poopy. If you want to buy from als buy in store.

this place is horrible and the customer service

I had to call Al's customer service three days after placing my order to find out why my order hadn't shipped. They then left the plastic anti theft tag on the bike helmet strap and sent the wrong model Giro helmet. I requested that Al's please send the proper model helmet to be told they don't have the model I ordered on their website in stock. They sent a return tag and I returned the helmet. I had to call Al's customer service again 2 weeks after I returned it to get the refund processed. Very poor service and I wish I had ordered the bike helmet from another vendor as this was all a serious waste of my time.

Ordered 4 of the same items but only received 3 with no explanation. I guess I’ll give it an extra star because they ended up only charging me for 3 and not 4.
