**Extremely disappointing experience – I would not recommend Alliance Van Lines.** At initial contact, I was told delivery would take 1–2 weeks. Only after paying the initial deposit was I given a timeline suggesting it could take 3–4 weeks. In the end, my belongings took **7 weeks to arrive**. To make matters worse, Alliance changed the quoted “5–12 days” to “5–12 business days” only after the shipment had departed, despite this not being stated in the original correspondence. Communication was appalling. I had to repeatedly chase them for updates, only to receive vague and changing answers. They also added an additional warehouse fee of around $480 after pickup for just two lightweight items—a bin and a handheld vacuum cleaner. The weight had not changed, yet they refused to properly correct or adjust the charge despite my objections. Even moving agents I spoke with acknowledged that Alliance's consolidated moving model can result in slow deliveries, while other movers typically deliver within around two weeks. Seven weeks, poor communication, unexpected charges and zero accountability. **An incredibly frustrating experience, and a company I would strongly advise others to think twice about using.**

They gave a quote and asked for about half up front ($860) then came and got our stuff. They then immediately asked for another $900 which came to the total original quote for a “departure fee.” Then a week later they called and asked for another additional $800 for another departure fee. They said they quote by weight then excused the additional charges because there were additional boxes - still within the weight limit total. They said they don’t farm out the shipping but in fact they subcontracted the move to Global. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE NOT BBB ACCREDITED AND THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF.

Do not use this company. Negatives: 1. The final price was far higher than the quote, with many mysterious extras added, although the actual load was exactly as I had itemized in advance. 2. They required 100% payment in advance of drop-off, effectively holding my goods hostage. 3. Their communication with me was rude and dismissive. 4. The crew was 90 minutes late for pick-up, after hours, and there was nobody I could contact for information. The crew did not communicate with me in advance with an ETA. 5. After the crew had packed everything, they told me that my job was the 8th that day, and that they had started work at 1 am (it was now 6.30 pm), and that they were now setting off on a 6-hour drive to Toronto. This suggests that the crews are given unrealistic rosters of work, and that the conditions they are working under are extremely unsafe. 6. For delivery, I was told that the window would be between 3 and 6 pm. Then on the actual day, when they did not turn up, I was told it was between 3 and 7 pm. At 7 pm I had heard nothing - no communication at all. I had to go out. At 7.50 pm the crew called me to say they were at my property. As I was not home, at that point, they said I would have to rearrange the delivery. However, when I arrived home later that evening, I found they had dumped the entire load on my front porch. They had not even allowed me the courtesy of a call to say this was what they were doing. 7. The office staff have been consistently unhelpful and rude. They offered nothing in the way of an apology. 8. I repeat - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Positives: 1. The crew themselves, on pick-up, were very nice and did a good job. Overall, if I could give this company a ZERO I would.

Too Bad there's not a 0 STAR. Bait and Switch on pricing, ended up costing 3 times more than the quote. Took over two weeks to get my furniture. Broken furniture, missing boxes (never received) with no compensation. They don't call with updates or changes once they have your belongings.

If I can give lower than 1 star I will give. This company is such a SCAM. The entire process was absolutely UNPROFESSIONAL, the coordinator never talked to me at any point and i only had the option to leave a msg with an admin and get an email back after multiple attempts. Not only most of my items were received completely ruined and damaged, they gave me 10 days to go though all my inventory and file a claim and then took 10 weeks to process paperwork to finalize the claim which was calculated to shows that I OWE $205.40 to the company. I paid EXTRA $$ for packaging my valuables. The packaging was so unprofessional, like shoving garbage in boxes. I literally received some of my furniture broken in 2 to 3 pieces. This includes dining chairs, glass coffee tables and accent chairs that were received damaged beyond repair. I am attaching pictures that I submitted in my claim. I wonder how someone in a sound mind can charge extra for packaging and then damage the items and then take No Responsibility and Not compensate. Furthermore, the company took weeks just to provide a consolidated receipt of service, multiple receipts provided with incorrect numbers. The company also charged me for transportation of my car which they took in cash and then sub contracted to another company and taking NO responsibility for delivery. The company also charged me additional $$ to deliver my furniture to upper level to my bedroom. Everything was charged before any service was provided. I paid a total of almost $12,000 for the moving to this company.... Yet i received the WORST POSSIBLE SERVICE. ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMENDED.

My only recommendation is DO NOT use this service keep your money giving it to this company is a total waste of money for which they provide little service. Also the moving company they dispatch the move to is not much better. Check out movers on your own in your local area who can do Long Distance moves and provide a more accurate estimates as to number and types of items to be moved, special packing, storage availability and delivery times. I should have been more diligent with an out of state relocation. Live and learn. That is why this company has a below 4 rating. On a scale of one to ten they a one and a half, 10 being the best. Recent relocation from New York to Florida. I only hope that this one bad review will maybe effect a certain number of people to avoid these types of companies.

WARNING!!! AVOID!!! They will provide you with a great quote and then show up and try to charge you way more. I started out at $4200.00 then I did the review again before the move and they increased the price to $5500.00 I thought that would at least be safe, they showed up and wanted $11,000.00 to move me. They said I had way more stuff than what was quoted. Of course, I said I cannot pay this much I don't have it. So they tried to find another mover to do it for cheaper and they cam e back to me at $9000.00 on top of my $800.00 deposit. I explained I cannot afford it as I don't have the money for this. Of course they said ok if you reject the offer we are keeping your deposit. So I lost $800.00 and had to rent a truck and move it myself. Now mind you my original quote was for 1200 cubic feet and after the movers showed up they said it was 2300 cubic feet and that's why my price went up so much. So the original quote was almost 100% off. You would think they would have an idea when you provide a detailed inventory. They do not know what they are doing. To make matters worse, I packed all of my belongings in a 26ft truck to approximately 1700 cubic feet. So after the movers did a visual inspection of all my belongings they tried to over charge me on the spot by 600 cubic feet and not give me my deposit money back. This company tried to put me in a corner on a day that I planned to have everything done. Thankfully I was able and prepared to say no and had the time to make other arrangements. Most people do not have the option and they have to get the move done that day. I cannot imagine how many people have been taken advantage of by this company. Very disappointed with the experience. The lease they could have done was give me my deposit back since they completely missed the mark on the original and updated estimates. Their contracts are set to take advantage of you. Do not give them a deposit and I would recommend that you only work with a company that does a visual inspection of your goods and provides options if they are going to increase they charge for any reason. Be careful out there, apparently a lot of these small movers operate this way.

I booked a move with a $750 deposit with Paul Levine On April 11th, 2025 for my daughter who was starting a new job. He was very responsive and accommodating and told me they could deliver her things in the first two days of May. I missed some she had for the move so contacted to add the items I missed and expected to add to the price. They were again very accommodating. Then I looked again at the contract and there was no specified delivery date. I called on April 14th and 15th, no one answered on the 14th and on the 15th the woman said they have a 21 day delivery window – its in the fine print paragraph 8. I texted Paul directly and it took him two days to respond. When I made the deposit, I was told they could meet my delivery needs until the after cancelation time then it was we can’t guarantee anything. I immediately told them that was not what I agreed on and I could not do the move that way. This was NOT what I agreed to.
