What a great experience. All the history and eeriness of this place was incredible. The fact that the narrators were prior inmates or employees was a genius idea. 10 out of 10!

The audio tour was interesting and informative. The staff were friendly. We did the evening tour, and really loved the programming. Ie. The talk about mental health and the doors closing demonstration. Because of the 6.30 start, we did not get to see any of the island itself, however, it was the prison that we wanted to see. Also enjoyed the Native American exhibit.

Jeff our tour guide was amazing, witty, and fun! Behind the scenes tour is the way to go. Learned so much.

We couldn't have done this trip on a better day. As a group we had the food fortune of going to Alcatraz during fleet week which as a group traveling from all over the country we had the chance to experience the airshow while on the Rock. The entire day was amazing.

Great day, great tour. I liked how you could go at your own pace and that the ferry leaves every 30 minutes. My MIL was knocked over by the wind and cut her head on the big, rusty, metal box outside near the old Wardens home. Around the corner where we were taking pictures of the GG bridge. Just a heads up you may need to remove the old rusty box. She cut her head open a bit, but she recently had a tetanus shot, so we didn’t tell anyone. Just an fyi

This was a fun experience My only request would be availability of rangers or volunteers to answer questions through the island

it was overall great. The only trouble we had was on the audio if you wanted to stop a moment or wait for somebody to catch up to you,there was no way to pick up where you left off ….you had to start over from the beginning so you end up missing some of it there were no directions and no one to ask until the end. The information was great and accurate. WhenPark Ranger was making her announcements. could have addressed all the flies that were on everyone:that they were not stinging flies just irritating. could’ve been a few more bathrooms, But I love that the place was in It’s original worn down condition.!! appreciated the tram uphill because I am handicapped
