Akool IncReviews of akool.com

I’m using the PRO plan. At first, I was just fumbling around, trying different options and wasting credits :), but over time I started working more deliberately and experimenting with the face swap and image-to-video generator. AKOOL is a really interesting tool; I’m discovering new capabilities every day—I highly recommend it! My experience is quite limited so far, but I see potential in AKOOL. I experiment with graphics as a hobby in my spare time. Once I top up my credits again, I’ll manage them more wisely, applying the knowledge I’ve gained. I don’t have a concrete plan yet—I’m just trying out various tools.

Daily genedation limits for image2video is not something i like. Please increase the cap.

I cancelled my Akool subscription in March 2026 because I wasn't using it. Akool themselves confirmed my cancellation by sending me a "We miss you, come back for a free month" email on March 11. I didn't resume. Despite that, Akool has charged my card $119/month for the Pro Max plan every month since — May 2, June 2, and July 3. Total: $357 in unauthorized charges. The wild part: when I log into Akool right now, my account displays as the FREE tier. Their own system shows I'm on the free plan, yet they're billing me for the most expensive tier. This is either a serious billing system defect or an intentional practice of continuing to charge cancelled accounts. Either way, it's indefensible. Additional issues: • Akool provides no self-service option to remove your saved payment method. You cannot stop them from charging you again through their interface. • Their refund policy conveniently states refunds "are not issued for accidental purchases or failure to cancel in time" which is language designed to shield them from accountability even in clear-cut cases. • I've reviewed their BBB profile: F rating, multiple unanswered complaints for similar unauthorized billing. This isn't an isolated bug, it's a pattern. I've emailed support requesting a refund, filed a BBB complaint, and I'm initiating a chargeback with my card issuer under Visa Reason Code 13.2 (Cancelled Recurring Transaction). I'll update this review with how they respond — or don't. Avoid Akool. If you must try their service, use a virtual card with a low limit that you can cancel independently. Do not give them access to a real payment method you can't easily block. UPDATE: About a week after the incident, Akool refunded the full $357 in unauthorized charges, plus an additional $59.50 from an older charge, for a total of $416.50 refunded to my original card. They also confirmed the payment method has been removed from their billing system.

Akool may look cheap at first, but the actual user experience is extremely disappointing. The biggest issue is the absurd waiting time. Their “unlimited” option sounds attractive in theory, but in reality I have experienced waits of over two hours for a single generation. That is not just inconvenient, it is ridiculous. Even worse, using credits does not solve the problem. In some cases, I still had to wait around 10 minutes for a generation. For a paid service, that is simply not acceptable. Other platforms such as Higgsfield provide access to comparable models with far better speed and a much smoother workflow. So while Akool may be cheaper, the lost time easily cancels out any price advantage. In its current state, I would not recommend Akool. The pricing may be competitive, but the queue times are a complete dealbreaker.

Akool provides some unique services, faceswap was generally the best for awhile, competitive API pricing, but their business model and practices are somewhat shady. It's incredibly easy to unexpectedly get 'upgraded' immediately without a proper checkout page. Your credits expire month to month which makes it a terrible value. I had an erroneous charge on my account, which they offered to discount and let me keep credits, only to have them expire 2 weeks prematurely, and after a lengthy attempt to get them back basically got ignored. There are definitely better options out there for any services of models they provide, but with better prices, clarity, and customer service.

They charged me over $200 for a free trial that cancelled. I am 100% sure cancelled it. I set a timer, then after that set a date on my calendar the day before renewal to ensure it was cancelled. I reported it as fraud with my bank, and the bank sided with them. I did not use ANY of my credits and demmanded a refund and they denied it of course. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CARD INFORMATION! It is helpful to have a spare debit card just for signing up to free trials, or for uncertain online vendors. Anyways, I have evidence that they abused my banking information for profit. Why can't people put the same amount of effort into providing a great service as they do for fraud? Aside from that, they charge too much money in my opinion, when it comes to their face swap video service. Also, why would I have to pay even more to download my faceswap creations?! $229 isn't enough? I also have to have an active subscription even though I paid and have the credits? Flat out predatory. How can people be so greedy over pixels?
