I’m a Parking Enforcer for AirGarage…
I’m a Parking Enforcer for AirGarage and I’ve been working with them now for a little over 4 months. The job is so simple. You show up to the lots, you scan license plates with your phone, and see if you have to leave a ticket or not. However, the job is not completely perfect. There are things I love about this job and things I don’t love about it. So I’ll spit the two up. The Pros: 1. You get paid DAILY. Every 24-48 hours, there’s a payout. BUT this depends on how consistent you are. 2. You have your own flexibility and can make your own schedule. Therefore, you're pretty much your own boss. 3. There’s no clocking in or clocking out. 4. You do have some freedom. 5. You get to scan the lots 3-4 times a day, but honestly I’ve done it more than that. The Cons: 1. Once you a complete a scan shift, you then have to wait 2 HOURS until you do it again. This is too long. So you have to find a way to kill time. They do say you can wait a half hour after another enforcer scanned, but normally that doesn’t even work. 2. You don’t know who else is coming to do the same shift you’re doing. It’s annoying, because there’s times where I’ve wanted to scan a lot, but another enforcer had already scanned everything. Or I see another enforcer already scanning as I’m scanning. So this makes my scans ineligible and it’s annoying. I really wish the system could tell us who was recently in the lot or who is currently in the lot! 3. This job alone will NOT pay your bills. Unless you have another job and this job, then you’re okay. 4. I don’t even think management is real. I say this simply because I’ve never seen them before nor do I think I ever will. They only communicate by text. Their name is supposedly “Kelly”, which the person is communicative it seems, but I’m starting to think it’s a possible bot. Therefore, it might not even be a human being at all. So this is sketchy and not helpful for customers that have questions or complaints or want to dispute a ticket. Not being able to call them at all or hear their voice is kinda a red flag in itself. That’s just really peculiar. Management is not supposed to be a mystery. 5. Once you get hired, they tell you to go scan the lots, but you don’t even have your vest nor the tickets yet, because they are mailing them to you. This doesn’t make any sense. Why on Earth would you go to a parking lot scanning people’s license plates WITHOUT a vest/uniform??? That just makes you look super suspicious to the public eye. I personally played it safe and waited until I got the vest and tickets! Although the vest alone sometimes is not helpful or enough. The vest is orange and blank. Has no logo on it or writing on it to show if you really are a parking enforcer. So some people don’t know who you are and still get confused. Honestly, sometimes I’m quite baffled at how a job like this exist and this company is a thing. But hey, it’s getting me by at least! There’s just so much that this company need to improve on though. So that’s why I give it 3 stars….
