Good platform

They take too long to review assessments. My generalist application assessment has never been reviewed for over 2 weeks.

A very good upcoming platform in the area of AI training, good and clear communication with contractors on what needs to be done with regard to the tasks. One major gripe is the speed with reveiwing tasks, a task can be left unreveiwed for months with no information communicated to contractors. Obviously this affects payment and progression on the platform as you need a certain amount of work passed to be certified as an expert.

I have also contributed to Project Aid and Golden Dog (Cross Search Benchmark) as an expert. The task design is excellent; the QA process (AI-generation check, difficulty probe, rollout review, judge reconciliation) is rigorous and clearly aimed at high-quality output. Unfortunately, there are significant practical issues associated with it, which cost contributors time, money, and trust: 1. The review cycle is way too long. I submitted tasks to Project Aid more than five weeks ago, and out of 10 tasks only 4 have been reviewed and compensated so far. Nothing is known about the reasons behind the delay or about what kind of timeline is expected for the other tasks. While experts manage to do their job within a reasonable period of time, the review process does not keep up with them. 2. Tasks are stopped during submission phase without any warnings or schedule. The restriction on the number of submitted tasks per expert is reasonable, however, there is no information about submission period and deadline provided in advance. I was almost ready with all three gating checks and difficulty probe when the submission for Golden Dog has been stopped unexpectedly. The contributor doesn't know if there is still time to submit something in a reasonable period of time. If there is a limit on the submission number, the deadline has to be clearly stated in order to provide some timeframe instead of an unexpected stopping point. 3. Lack of email notifications when the project is opened again and lack of consistent support features. Golden Dog was opened again after the stoppage without any notification; I found out about it only from my own dashboard check. Project Aid provides in-dashboard "Chats and QA" feature, which allows contacting the project team, but Golden Dog does not provide such feature. The support representative has responded to my concerns appropriately, which I appreciate. Still, the platform needs to deal with the issues of review speed and notifications in order to match the quality of work requested from contributors.

I gave this 3 stars because I have earned fron this platform and before now they were okay. But right now very disorganized, no projects to work on despite making various announcements that things are gonna change and be better. So many people have dropped their concerns and worries yet nothing has been done.

Afterquery had been a good platform that is straight forward and easy to comprehend for employees and they always pay what they owe. The challenge lately is just delays in everything both project approval and onboarding and communication. I hope it adjusts this and continue with its integrity and transparency.

I don't usually write reviews, but the AfterQuery team had the gall to email me encouraging me to review them here. So here I am. Plain and simple: AfterQuery is a scam - a very well packaged one. I was onboarded to complete creative writing tasks and basic RLHF projects. The advertised pay for that initial project was $50/hour, which they then promptly switched to a per-task model. This is a classic scam tactic. This way, they're able to use your completed tasks and data and leave them in a "review" status indefinitely or even flat out reject your submission. Then you don't get paid. Funnily enough, this is exactly what AfterQuery does on almost all other projects. Their review process is just feeding your submission to an AI. So, in that case, what exactly is AE's business model? It's an AI company that uses basic AI to do its work for it... Doesn't that just scream red flag? Well, it gets worse. If you're active on the company's subreddit, you'll find a slew of complaints ranging from not being paid at all to having submissions stuck in revision for weeks to months. These complains only last a few hours, as the customer support team actively delete negative sentiment. I suppose they'll do the same to this review if they have the power to. AfterQuery frequently launch projects and advertise a very lucrative pay. This is what will happen: the project will be live for a few hours with everyone scrambling to contribute, then it'll shut down. If not, it'll just stay in limbo as the company package your submissions and data and give it to their clients without having to pay for it. I had high hopes for the platform, but I will say with 100% of my soul: do not work here. Find something else, because nothing here is worth it. I don't even care about being anonymous here - I'm happy to shout this from the rooftops (which I have been doing).
