the most ridiculous company I've ever been involved. 1. they don't use slack, they use their internal channels like slack, but there is ONLY 1 CHANNEL for a project, and NO ONE except the admin can talk. 2. they intentionally postpone the review of your tasks, so they don't need to pay for it. 3. they limit the number of iterations of revision despite they put infinite quality checks that were never detailed explained in the guideline.

I work as a freelance contributor for this company where I involved in generalist but still very technical and complex project called Golden Dog. Due to the complexness I need several days when the batch submission open to work on this project. When the last batch open, I have finished my work ready to be submitted. My work has submitted locally on my browser and in their server, waiting for submitted. Admin of the project, Peter Shen announce that we should stay tunes for updates in a very enthusiastic tones, indicating new batch will open. Weeks after, they had problem payout the last open batch. They had addressed this problem along with several bugs in the platform for this project submission. Promising that they will fixed the bugs and after that will be open soon. Days later, they suddenly announce the project was over and apologies by saying "sorry for the task that didn't make through". Without any other explanation. Just a simple one sentence announcement. I was shocked to hear this because the status of my almost finished work already saved in their system wasn't addressed at all. Yes they apologies but then what? how about other ready to be submitted task? Will they retain good faith by not using my task? Or did they (not so) secretly still takes it and because it was not submitted and approved yet, they don't have to pay me? They just want free labor? As of today this review is written and posted there is still no further update from Project Admin regarding this situation. Of course, I didn't want to jump conclusion so suddenly but seeing their history of bad management and not replying to contributor email indicate that I will never getting my payment. I brought this issue into their social media and ended by getting banned and silenced. All my message on the project chat was also not responded. The thread in the social media was full of fake account that try to counter-argument with template words saying that "just contact support" , meanwhile over and over again people has reviewed that support rarely or took way too long to reply to contributor emails. This indicate they didn't want people in public to know about this and keep a (fake) echo chamber with the community. By doing this, AfterQuery has oriented as an irresponsible and scam company that avoiding communication and paid, or at the very least compensate their own contributor for the work we had done. By not giving further clarifications about saved-and-ready-to-be-submitted-task were handled on their end, its all become free labor that they can steal from contributor freely without us ever knowing.

AfterQuery permanently closed my account, stating that I violated its Terms of Service, but did not specify which provision or what conduct allegedly caused the closure. I also had completed work that was submitted and marked “Needs Review.” I was informed that outstanding work would be forfeited, without a clear explanation of the contractual basis for withholding payment. I have contacted AfterQuery requesting clarification and payment for completed work, but the issue remains unresolved. I believe workers deserve clear explanations and transparent handling of payment for work already completed and submitted.

Recommend that not work on that. SCAM PLATFORM I worked with AfterQuery and completed tasks that were submitted through the platform. Some of my completed work was still marked **“Needs Review”** when my account was permanently closed. AfterQuery informed me that my account was closed for violating one or more of its Terms of Service provisions. However, the notice did not identify the specific provision I allegedly violated or provide specific information about the conduct or submission that resulted in the closure. More importantly, I was told that my outstanding work had been forfeited. This leaves an unresolved issue regarding payment for work that I had already completed and submitted, including work that was still pending review. I contacted AfterQuery and requested clarification regarding: * The specific Terms of Service provision allegedly violated * The conduct or submission that resulted in the closure * Which completed tasks were approved, pending review, or outstanding * The amount of payment remaining unpaid * The contractual basis for withholding payment for completed work * How my unpaid or pending-review submissions will be treated and used * Whether the applicable NDA and contractual obligations concerning my submitted work will continue to be respected At the time of writing, I have not received a satisfactory resolution addressing these issues. I am sharing this review based on my experience and the communications I received. I believe workers should receive clear explanations regarding account closures and transparent treatment of payment for work that has already been completed and submitted. I hope AfterQuery will address the outstanding payment and provide a clear explanation of the contractual basis for its decision.

These folks are not really "folks" at all. The whole process is run by an AI agent, and the only thing that gets reviewed by a human is payout. Look at their job descriptions on their website, they are so full of obvious AI errors - my granddaughter is a better writer - that it is obvious nothing is vetted by a half intelligent human. Avoid. They are stealing all your personal data anyway.

Wasted too much time on this site So far, my experience with AfterQuery has been frustrating and has wasted a lot of my time. Last time, I completed several tasks, but then the project disappeared. Now they’ve added me to another project, and none of the tasks seem to pass the same check. It looks like there are issues with the site because the errors aren’t clear or properly explained. Honestly, it’s starting to feel like a scam site.

I’ve worked on several AI data-training platforms, including Handshake, Alignerr, and AfterQuery. In my experience, AfterQuery is the lowest-paying platform. They advertise jobs at around $50–$100 per hour, but after onboarding, the actual payment can be around $75 per task. In my experience, these tasks cannot realistically be completed in one hour—they usually take at least 4–5 hours to complete.

The payments are delayed extraordinarily. There was many bad signs of fraud/cheat in reviews/payment delays to serve the personal finance demand.
