Afternic is trying to sell our domains without asking us if we want to sell them. Very dubious organisation.

Paid $2788 for a premium domain from Afternic because they were supposedly owned by GoDaddy which I already have account and domains at, then suddenly you have to open a new account at another company called Uniregistry (also apparently owned by GoDaddy), and then you have to pay additional fees to transfer the domain. I didn't want yet another account and more undisclosed fees, so then suddenly your account is locked for 60 days and they can't do anything about it. But the article link they send you says that a lock has to be explained/justified, that you can authenticate your ownership with a code (which I requested and did several times), and that you have to be provided an option to remove the code. They did not. So now disputing the charge with my credit card company. Nothing but fraud and scammers at Afternic and seriously making me reevaluate my business relationship with Go Daddy. Exploring other options for domain hosting. Avoid this company. 4/27/22 file this review and open a dispute with my cc, 4/28/22 SUDDENLY I'm contacted via my GoDaddy email address on file that the domain is in my account (MIRACULOUS!!), (after being told daily for a week Afternic & GoDaddy can't communicate with each others platforms or access them), but when I try to transfer the Domain to Shopify to use it with a new ecommerce storefront, still can't. Then continue to receive several emails from a team rep apologizing for misinformation and frustration asking me to contact them. I finally tell them to stop harassing me via email, that the domain is still inactive and useless, that they've wasted enough of my time (6 hours to date) and I wasn't going to take down my review and I didn't want any more meaningless apologies. 5/2/22 called GoDaddy tech support, explained the situation, was walked through a few steps, domain still not working but it looks like progress might be being made. I'll wait 48 hours and update this review again as necessary. 6/24/22 they never got the transfer to go through. Lots of promises and apologies, zero fulfilment. Filed a claim with my credit card, got the charge refunded, bought a new domain name, now up and running. Never work with Afternic. You've been warned.

A bunch of scammers mostly from India that need to be in jail. Don’t do business with this criminals either try to sell your premium domains through them.

Absolute scam. Had my domain on there for 2 years. Set price low at about $250. Would give me no data on views or anything. Let my domain expire and it’s now on sale for $975 on GoDaddy. No response or solid answers… everything is cryptic when you call Afternic.

These people are complete scammers and liars! I own over 300 domains for 18 years. Ive listed many domains with Afternic, with no minimum amount required to sell my un-used domains. I have sent MULTIPLE requests from fictitious email addresses requesting to purchase one of my own domains. Afternic NEVER presented any of the offers to me!!! Instead they emails the fictitious emailer/domain bidder (me) stating that the domain owner (me) refused offer... yet I NEVER GOT THE OFFER presented to me!!! SCAMMERS! LIARS They need class action lawsuit brought against them ASAP!

I sold a domain on November 11th... It's now December 14th. I still have not been paid by Afternic. I was told updating Payee information in Godaddy was fine - 2 weeks went by before they said I 100% must update inside Afternic.... Since then, twice the bank transfers didn't work. I have now updated my PayPal as payee method and have been ignored by you guys for 6 days. People pay me via bank transfer or PayPal everyday without issue - except Afternic. Truly a horrible experience trying to get paid by you guys. Compared to GoDaddy, Afternic is truly horrible.

They scammed me and stole my domain. my domain got sold and they kept me waiting for 3 months for payout. i did countless emails only to know the status of my payment or the domain. I did transfer the domain to their account and they said once the transfer is done, it will take 5-7 working days for them to make the payment. after 14 more days and infinite followups they sent an email that the sale has been cancelled. when i asked about my domain, they had no reply, i lost my domain and they have erased my account from their system. i cant even login but i have proof of purchase and i am planning to take legal action against these scammers.
