Customer service lacks. Except when you try to NOT renew your subscription, then they will email you for three weeks straight, daily. Even after I told them we are not renewing and to not email us they still do. They tried to process my payment daily for three weeks, thankfully my card had expired. So annoying.

Hi Armstrong,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that canceling your AffiliateWP subscription felt frustrating.
The cancellation flow is structured to educate customers on the benefits of keeping their subscription, like seamless access to plugin updates, new features, and priority support. However, your input helps us improve, and we will take your feedback into consideration.
Best regards,

I hope readers of this review will agree that sometimes people move on. I wanted to move on and tried to cancel the subscription.
They do not provide an email address to send a request to cancel, but HEY, they have a "Cancell" button in the account area.
The button loaded next page with "Can we address the issue/No thank you, cancel" -> I pressed the second "cancel".
Went to check my subscription status, and it still shows "Active" while the "renewal date" is approaching.
I went to the "Payment Method", deleted Credit Card info. I then went to my bank and locked the virtual card which I used to purchase the original subscription. I then deleted this V card altogether.
Renewal time came, there comes my bank's notification: "AffiliateWP - $749 charge".
My goodness, they don't even have a package with the "regular" price like this.
Here is another "insult to injury" from their "refund policy":
"...If adequate notice is not received and your credit card is subsequently charged, you will not receive a refund. Renewals are non-refundable."
There is no peaceful "exit" here, people!!!
I have no words...

Hi Anatoly,
Thank you for sharing your experience. I am very sorry to hear about the difficulty you faced while trying to cancel your subscription. That is never the experience we want for our customers.
Our account area normally allows customers to cancel directly, so if the cancellation did not update correctly for you, we sincerely apologize. I also want to confirm that we have processed a full refund to make sure you are not impacted by the renewal charge.
We have reviewed this situation internally to ensure that our processes are clearer and more reliable for everyone moving forward. Your feedback is genuinely helpful and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts.

Read the cancellation fee notices.
Overall, the product is decent. But if you miss a renewal cancellation, even by 10 hours, they will only refund you 90% and keep 10% as a "processing fee". In today's tech world, you can find companies with more user-friendly contracts and highly recommend you look at a competitor for service. I do not recommend them, based on this.

Do not use affiliatewp
Do not use affiliatewp. Their software (if you can get it to work) is the bare minimum, they just want you to connect to multiple 3rd party paid plugins to make their software do what they say it does.

Hey Andrew,
Thanks for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're experiencing. I see you’ve already opened a support request, and our team will continue working with you directly to get things resolved.
Regarding your note on third party paid plugins, AffiliateWP is designed to integrate with a wide range of platforms (many of which are free to use), like WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads. These integrations help extend functionality, but they're not necessarily paid or required unless your specific setup calls for them.
We appreciate you giving AffiliateWP a try and hope to get things working smoothly for you soon.

Awful Customer Service, Pay for pro and QR codes not there
First and foremost the customer service is shocking. It's obviously been outsourced to Asia and there's a disconnect to the main Dev teams. The guy who answers is nice enough but it's typical Asian 'sorry you feel that way' etc. They need to turn into a customer focussed company. Other plugins bend over backwards to make a good product, this company not so much.
Next I paid for a pro upgrade and the main reason for this was so my affiliates could generate QR codes in the software. Guess what, this doesn't work in the Pro version now. Second guess what: customer service said, yep you guessed it they fobbed me off with platitudes "sorry this doesn't work but...." . Not even a discount or partial refund.
The software seems to work. But I get the feeling that the devs spend all their time on ways to make you upgrade as that's continually rammed down your throat. Whereas if they spent that time on product development then people would be beating down their door to upgrade.
Even when I cancelled I had to go through 4-5 screens of them offering me 60% off to stay. This is the level of desperation the company has and it's just awful.
Oh I forgot too on install they opt you in a whole raft of crap plugins you don't want. Real sneaky *swear word of choice inserted here*. I had to identify which ones they were and manually delete them. As I'm just a small shop owner this gave me anxiety as I didn't know what they had installed and what these crappy plugins did or if they would affect my site in other ways. Way to screw with peoples livelihoods!
So I'd steer clear, or test out the individual version for a while first, that's what I'm going back too. Then I'm looking at other options. I may reluctantly stay with them due to inertia. But I'll not be recommending them to any people I know.
I just checked and they are still advertising QR codes in the affiliate portal. The portal is a PRO option only so this is a lie. Having told them about this about a month ago you'd think they would have removed it straight away. This is indicative of the company they are.

Hi Jools,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I'm really sorry for the confusion and frustration this caused.
To clarify, QR codes are available in the Affiliate Portal (as shown in our screenshots), but they require the free QR Codes addon to be installed: QR Codes Addon Setup. Unfortunately, that step wasn’t communicated clearly during your support interaction, and our responses didn’t reflect the correct setup. That’s our mistake. We're updating our documentation and internal guidance so this doesn’t happen again.
I know this doesn't undo your experience, but I want to acknowledge the issue and thank you for bringing it to our attention. If you decide to revisit AffiliateWP, we’d be happy to help get everything set up properly.

Extremely Bad Customer Service
AffiliateWP is great plugin, but without good customer service it’s worthless like any other product!
They promise 24 hour response time and it’s been 3 days now and my following emails where I begged for help are ignored! Very frustrating!
They just keep pushing to buy “Pro” if I want better customer service! That is so unprofessional! I am happy with what I bought and as a paying customer and deserve equal attention.

Hi Zorana,
I’m really sorry to hear about your frustration. I understand how important it is to get timely support when you need help, and I appreciate you sharing your experience.
Looking into your ticket, I saw that my support team was actively troubleshooting the issue—testing your site, providing detailed guidance, and offering solutions. There was a slight delay due to a holiday, but they remained committed to helping and were waiting on further details from you to continue investigating.
I want to make sure everything is fully resolved for you. If there’s anything still outstanding, please reply to your support ticket, and I’ll make sure it gets taken care of.
Your feedback means a lot, and if you feel the support team was able to assist you, I’d really appreciate it if you could update your review to reflect your experience.
Best,
Andrew

Disappointed with their support
They are not helpful when it comes to adding data to the form submission. It is a very important feature to include the affiliate name or ID in the data so we will know where the referral came from. Instead, they let us go to a 3rd party service and let them code it for us at our own expense.
