Mr. Barnett, I hope missing one letter in your last name didn’t really contribute to bringing our year-long streak of stellar reviews to an end. The shipment you received is exactly what we intended to send you. Whenever someone orders progressive lenses we send a sample pair to you with instructions on how to take the picture we need. We then use Photoshop and the known height of the lens to calculate the height of your eye in this lens. It is always important to place the progressive reading part of the lens at the correct height. In motorcycle glasses like you ordered, this is also a serious safety issue. We place this reading corridor in motorcycle glasses slightly lower than we would in everyday eyewear. This provides the most unobstructed view of the road while still allowing you to see your gauges. As I stated in my email before you wrote this review, the reason we sent you a pair of glasses with one lens removed is so we can see exactly where your pupil is when you’re wearing these glasses. The Seg Ht of 18mm that you emailed to us appears to be for a different pair of glasses with a different size lens. If you would like us to continue with your order, please send a picture of you wearing the glasses that we shipped to you. If you have changed your mind, we will happily refund your money. Just let me know how we should proceed. I know it would cost us less if we did not to ship these to you and just guessed or used an average of where the height of this progressive corridor should be. But I ride a bike, and I wear progressive lenses. I know firsthand why this level of meticulous detail is absolutely essential. I invite you to take a second look at the criteria you used to give us the worst review we have received in the previous 12 months. Dave DuMais Owner/Optician ADS Sports Eyewear

All our Oakley prices are as low as allowed for an Authorized Oakley dealer. Oakley does sell some of their glasses to the active military and some first responders at a price below what we can buy them for. These are not available with a prescription through Oakley. So it is certainly true that you could have received the frame at half price, but not the Rx lenses. We do occasionally have military personnel or police officers get their Oakley frames through this program and send them to us for prescription lenses. But this can add 6 - 8 weeks to the process. We hate to see our rating taking a beating due to something beyond our control. Hopefully the service you received will leave more of an impression that the frame price. (Follow up) Oakley was purchased by Luxottica a couple years ago. In the past few months they have finally taken over and changed several longtime policies. I see now we are completely cut out of the military orders, and now you CAN order a complete prescription from Oakley. If we were putting Oakley lenses in a frame you purchased from Oakley you would receive a 15% military discount. So the price for a Tinted Grey SV Rx lens on this page: http://www.adseyewear.com/oakley-prescription-lenses/ Would be: $220.00 less 15% = $187.00. Or you can purchase a similar free form lens design from our lab on this page: http://www.adseyewear.com/ads-prescription-lenses/ And the price would be: $139 less 15% = $118.15. Now that Oakley is selling complete prescription orders to military and first responders for less than they sell them to us, purchasing directly from Oakley will always be your least expensive option. We may be able to get them faster, but we will never be able to sell them for less than Oakley. They do not sell the Rx lens only. Perhaps we will be able to work with you again in the future if your prescription changes and your frame is still in good shape. (You have a 2-year scratch warranty on all Oakley lenses.) Note that we fully support this Oakley discount to the military. Thank you for your service. . Dave DuMais Owner, ADS Sports Eyewear
