Every shelter and rescue are full. I was told to go to Adopt a Pet.com and post my puppies on there. I am a private owner. I filled out the profile including the pictures and paid my amount and once everything was done my profiles for each puppy was posted. I have already found a home for one of the pups. I still have 3 more to go. I found this site to be easy, and I get to talk with the applicants to screen them before meeting. After the meet and greet and the new adoptors wanted the pup, them we finalized the adoption and payment was made at that time. I did not have any problems with the site, if I did I just emailed them and things got corrected within 24 hours.

I found a dog. Rescues are full. Shelters are full. Everyone, absolutely everyone said there is no room if you can’t keep her, put her back. She was abandoned. Skin and bone. I could not put her back. So I made a post with adopt a pet. They took my 30$ and never even posted my pet. I answered all of the questions, several… SEVERAL times. I only got emails saying complete your profile. Over and over. So she never got posted. I was able to keep her in the end. But if someone couldn’t have, their only option would be to put her back on the street. This site is a disgrace. And it’s partnered with pet smart? Just , so very sad.

I went under the rehome section of site and inquired about a sheepdoodle . I was supposed to be contacted 7 to 10 days. Have heard nothing. There is absolutely no where to contact to inquire status. They have an AI that's tells you that there is a section to see your application status. There is no where to click to find that out. It was just the app and submit. There is no support site or phone number either. I'm done with them.

It really is a scam.

Avoid this site. It’s nothing more than a site to sell dogs, not rescue them. Inquired about a dog and they demanded money before completing the application. When I logged out, they actually called wanting money before even making arrangements to see the dog. Looked at two dogs, same breed, and the wording was the same for both. Be wary of this site.

I was looking to "adopt a pet," but this website is an advertising scam. I gave them information and all I got was to be bombarded with ads! And they don't have a "unsubscribe" function.

I am a 56 year old homeowner recovering cancer patient... I have always had a cat since I was 10 years old... Nothing makes life easier than having a fur baby to love for Psychological and Physical Benefits... I did not believe in declawing when I was younger but since I became a diabetic and got a bad scratch from a cat with was difficult for me to recover from, got an infection, I have started to declaw.... NOW before anyone's says anything YES, I tried the following: Soft Claws Scratching posts Trimming the claws ever so often Training / behavior traits Using deterrents... All my fur babies are INSIDE CATS ONLY !! I feel this is a form of discrimination !!! I will not be recommending ANYONE with health issues / rents - brother was recently declined on a pet because he rents not own a house and does not have children These organization ARE CLOSED MINDED AND DO NOT ASK FOR AN EXPLANATION OR THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX !! Everyone should have an opportunity to have a fur baby to love !!!!

What I wrote to them directly regarding their allowing puppy mills and mill brokers on their site: Since signing up for alerts, I have noticed two OBVIOUS puppy mills/mill brokers on your website.  Allowing these organizations to post on your site allows them to continue their animal abuse.  These are not rescues, these are organizations fronting for puppy mills and turning a profit and they need to be stopped.   It only took a few weeks of watching these two organizations to see that they are fronting for mills.   The first is Heaven to Earth Rescue and Heaven to Earth Rescue - PittsburghYour site has it in their description saying that they get a "small percentage" of their dogs from puppy mills.  However, they receive nearly ALL of their dogs from puppy mills.  They also don't have anything listed on their website about puppy mills.  They have 27 of 38 puppies on their website and they are all designer dogs that were given to them by a "hobby breeder". They continuously get in designer breeds on a near weekly basis and they are lying about the source.  Their last batch of golden doodles posted a few days ago have 10 or 11 new pups all having lice.  What kind of hobby breeder is giving up litters like this??  The lice leads me to question the conditions these dogs are born and held in.  It's disgusting.  Evidently their google reviews also state they have been exposed in local newspapers that they are indeed a puppy mill operation.  The second is One Paw at a Time in West Millford NJ.  They continuously only get designer breed puppies and sell them for over $900 each claiming they are a rescue.  They have deactivated their reviews on facebook since I started looking for dogs and they also tell anyone that complains about the cost that they will be blocked and can go buy a dog from a breeder.   I have been in contact with both of these organizations and they are high pressure and are clearly just moving dogs to move dogs.  There are a couple other locations I've noticed on your site that are questionable but I have not dug into them.  It is a shame that Adopt-A-Pet is letting puppy mills run their business on their platform... Effectively tricking people into thinking they are rescuing all the while they are funding and supplying demand for a puppy mill.   Please make appropriate changes and block these criminal and abusive organizations from posting on your platform AND do your due diligence before allowing a new organization to post.
