Received a damaged window A/C unit that had apparently been dropped. Guess it was the last one in stock and Abt rolled the dice and delivered it to me..... The warped cabinet and the hideous sound the compressor and fan make on start up speaks volumes.... Of course the replacement unit was on back order for a couple of weeks.... Well, the replacements are in, I am contemplating on picking up unit myself versus waiting another couple of weeks for delivery exchange only to get another "last one in stock" that may have been damaged as well.....

I tried to buy a product through Synchrony Credit Card and then I received an email indicating I have to call them for a verification purpose. I did called them and I talked to the most rude person in the world, uncooperative and one single word answer for each question which is “ We can’t process it for you” I even tried to understand what is the issue so I can work to fix it, but they didn’t tell me. I called my bank and then returned to them, there were a man and he was gentle told me what’s going on. Then I returned and the same girl answered the call and literally, she told me “ I told you it will not go through, this is your third call, don't call again because we will not receive your call we have other customers, etc, super rude, uncooperative, doesn't know how to talk to people, probably there is discrimination based on my accent ... even more. PS: Their transaction did go through and they hold the funds out of my account Thumb down not anymore Abt!

Ordered a new microwave to replace the 5 year old one that crapped out. The door wouldn’t latch, light wouldn’t go on, and it wouldn’t cook. The “new” one ABT shipped had the exact same problems right out of the box. Requested a return, didn’t hear anything back for days so I took care of it with the manufacturer. The new microwave they sent was packed much better, had plastic wrap all over, with tape here, styrofoam in tact, etc. The one from ABT didn’t have any of that. Tells me they shipped me a used/ defective unit. Will never buy from them again.

Very disappointing experience, I ended up having to pay for their mistake in taking the order wrong. FOLLOW UP: After reading my original post(above) I received an email from their customer experience person I explained the situation & never received a reply. I posted this same issue in another board & she provided a partially correct reply & didn't even give me the courtesy of replying to me

I am very frustrated with the customer service aspect of this company. I have been dealing with my ice machine for our subzero fridge not working due to a valve needing to be replaced. 2 times they have brought the wrong part and have to reorder the correct part again, which is delaying the whole process. It has been at least 2.5 months this issue has not been resolved. Its not the fact about how long it takes the parts to come in but the fact that they technicians are given the wrong parts continuously causing us having to go out and by our own ice and take time away from work to make sure we are available for when the techs come out. I asked to see if we could be compensated some how with a gift card or credit and was informed they do not do that and even asked to speak with a manager about and was given the same answer. At this point I am disappointed. I really did like this company but they don't seem to have the same values when it comes to servicing once you buy!

Had a washer and gas dryer installed. 5 days after installation we noticed a smell in the room. Turns out there was a gas leak. We called the gas company and their person who came out stated that the installation was poor, that they used the wrong connectors. Very poor and potentially dangerous job. When I called ABT about this, no one was able to come out immediately to fix it and now am left with a non working dryer for days

Since my review, Abt Service Manager contacted me and discussed my experience which I appreciate very much. This is more in line with my Abt experience over the years. I've had good experience with Abt over many years but my most recent experience with an appliance repair is very disappointing. After an initial visit to diagnose the problem and ordering parts Abt scheduled an appointment. I waited for the service person, they canceled midday and I was told the parts are on their truck so can't transfer to another tech, the next appointment same again, the next appointment they showed up with no parts. I was then told the parts hadn't arrived and they had to reschedule again. When I asked what about the 3 days I had to wait for the service appointment I was asked what I wanted Abt to do about it. I then got a promise for 20% off the service charge. No apology, no 'sorry for all the time you wasted on our mistakes', it was more like anger at me for being upset about it. Very disappointing for a company who claims their service is a differentiator in a competitive market here in Chicago.
