*Update below* I booked an 8 day hiking trip including single supplement w/ 57 hours and paid. The trip was about 60 days out. I then received an email letting me know that they needed to cancel the one I booked, I could either reschedule to an earlier start date (couldn't change work schedule so soon) or upgrade to a Deluxe version on the same dates as the original trip. Initially, they told me it was $313 more, so said yes, then received another invoice for an additional $912, to which I then told them I wasn't willing to pay and wanted to cancel. The person I was emailing said she would check w/ the guide to see if there was another single supp. person so I wouldn't have to pay the addtl supplement fee, they were unwilling to go down on the cost anymore. I indicated that if they couldn't reduce the cost further, then I would cancel. Ultimately, after going back and forth and having several emails unanswered... I told them I wanted to cancel all together for a full refund. I didn't want to pay the additional for the deluxe version of the trip nor did I really want the fluffier one w/ less hiking- so figured I'd just re-book at a different time. They then told me I was now outside of the 48hr booking window and I do not qualify for a refund, sorry! oh, but the trip is now back on (and by this time we're about a month away- and I've already made new plans). I've had to submit a dispute to my cc company and ask the 57 hours company repeatedly to please just refund my money, they don't get to keep >$3000 for a trip THEY cancelled, then drug their feet on responding to emails/ concerns to then tell me it's been too long and I don't qualify for a refund. Still TBD to how this is going to shake out. I'm just hoping for my money back and I will not book with them again, way too uncertain and they are clearly not actually trying to help support the traveller. **Update, the company ultimately reached out, allowed me to cancel the trip and fully refunded my original payment.
