PetMeds is untrustworthy and negligent
I started using PetMeds to order my pet's two prescription medications 3 years ago. I repeatedly had issues—orders would be inexplicably delayed, and I would call PetMeds and ask what was happening, and they'd usually blame my vet for not being responsive. This didn't make sense though, since I didn't have these same issues with my vet when ordering from other places, like Chewy, and every time I called my vet they'd answer quickly. But I'd always have to call both of them and have long calls to figure out the problem. Every time, PetMeds would tell me this was just a glitch and wouldn't happen again. On more than one occasion, I had to get an emergency backup supply of my pills from my vet because PetMeds didn't deliver in time. I had my prescriptions on autoship, so it should have been easy, but it wasn't. Eventually, I set my autoship to deliver more than a month early, so that when there would inevitably be issues, I'd be able to resolve them in time. On my prescription in May, they said there was an error and they needed my veterinarian's information to process. But why? This was the SAME vet that had been on my autoship order for years. Suddenly they'd lost the info? I confirmed my vets information, and I was reassured the problem was taken care of. Flash forward to my next order, which was set for 7/29. I once again got an email saying there was a problem—they needed my veterinarian's information to fill the prescription. So I went into the system, could see that my vets info was STILL there, and AGAIN I had to provide it. Even though it was right there! I thought the issue was solved, but no... my order still didn't go through. So I called them, and on 8/21 someone assured me that my order was being overnighted. At this point it was 3 weeks overdue and I said I was very concerned I was going to run out of pills. They promised it would arrive. IT DIDN'T. Next thing I knew, on 8/29, I was told one of my prescriptions was on backorder for a week. So I had to call yet again! On 9/2, I spoke to someone who told me one of my prescriptions isn't allowed to be on Autoship and that's the problem—but I'd had it on autoship for years? So he had me cancel that order and place a new one. I was told both prescriptions were going to be overnighted. Surprise surprise, they weren't. One of them did finally arrive a few days later, but the other never came. I called my vet, and they said they'd gotten no prescription requests sent over from PetMeds. I ONCE AGAIN HAD TO CALL PETMEDS. This time, I was told they had reached out to my vet multiple times and "were placed on a long hold." They submitted nothing to my vet's portal about the second prescription. I finally canceled my order on 9/10 — a full 43 days after the order was supposed to have gone through. I had placed the order with Chewy instead, where the price was HALF as much (only 17 cents per pill, as opposed to 34!). Guess what—within days I got my prescription. Chewy had zero issue contacting my vet and getting it approved. This all happened while the PetMeds order was still supposedly "pending." Chewy even kindly overnighted the prescription to me for free, because they knew my dog had run out of her meds and was literally suffering. Chewy made up for PetMeds mistake. Thank god for them! PetMeds should be ashamed of yourselves. You don't care about our pets' well-being. This was completely unacceptable. I shouldn't have had to repeatedly call you and be lied to for over a month while my dog suffered without her meds. I will never ever use them again.
