David Jones Parkway, Springfield, Illinois. SCAM ARTISTS. I agreed a price over the phone ($35) and then they charge you $180+ and hold your stuff hostage until you pay the absurd fee. They trick you as you don't have a written agreement. My agreement was over the phone and now ceases to exist. GREAT SCAM TAC I am a college student and just been scammed a lot of money. I will NEVER go back here after this experience. Even after you leave, they continue to bill you for months. They will then report you to credit agencies if you don't pay. Daylight robbery. STAY AWAY! Thankfully, once the next monthly fee came, a employee, Alex, helped me out with good customer service and let me know that I had to no longer pay the extra fee.

I received the $1,000 from the claim. Which is why I bumped it to a 2 star. I thought they'd consider more because of how long it took (15months) to get something ( like how they charge us late fees). But they didn't. Had a few good conversations with people that cared about getting this issue resolved and I am thankful. I was considering bumping to a 3, maybe even a 4 star. However, I just received an email stating that my rate was increasing $16 extra per month starting in November. No security (the gate is always open) no changes, just more money for them to collect. More just an update. Getting some correspondence with the company but after more than a year of trying I still am not getting any further submitting my insurance claim after my break in. Their 3rd party insurance company "River Oak". They have been STALLING ME FOR A YEAR and I just received an email from them refusing to pay out my insurance claim because it's been more than 30 days. I plan to write an individualized review about them but wanted to share this with anyone who needs it. Also I'm still paying insurance every month. Prices are still increasing, still no added security and operating hours are decreasing.

The couldn’t get the date right that was promised when I got the unit they try to switch it up

It took 3 times for me to get a valid gate entry code and I found that unacceptable. It appears more training is needed for the customer service representatives on company guidelines and procedures, as I received incorrect information at least twice on required documentation needed to be a fully accepted customer.

Third party used to reserve unit. Was told had to sign paperwork in person secure the unit. Received email with appt time to sign paperwork, drove 30+ miles, no agent/office on site, only a kiosk,!! still had to call secure unit, kiosk worthless, on phone with 30+ minutes as i tried online do paperwork. FRUSTRATION! Can’t view the units beforehand, the unit I reserved had cracked weather stripping! water pooling in front of unit with rain, Fence securing back storage area was wooden falling part, not secure!!!! some cameras, overall bad experience ! agent to cancel unit was nice, as was first agent, i owe her an apology, i was not happy! and if you have a problem no one on site to help!! You have to CALL & then get put on hold! CANT RECOMMEND

I got this storage unit because it was a 24-hour access location. Then 2 weeks into me having my unit right after I finish moving everything 100%, the unit emails me and says that they are now changing to no longer having 24-hour access. I would have never gotten the unit in the first place if I would have known this. There's no lights in the units like the other units have previously gotten from other places. And also there's no dumpster for any trash that I have so I have to take trash with me. Not worth the price at all or the frustration.

Not good security, or renters! Cut locks everywhere n broken glass! So maintenance is not at all! I even caught this lady in the middle of breaking into units, one which happened to be mine n they wouldn’t do anything about it!

After several conversations with their staff about a problem at their Sedwick location, and their lack of interest or concern, I was go to relocate. Then the next mont I found out that UHaul had purchased this location. Within a week, and before I could discuss the problem with them, they were already working on it. I am now completely happy with my unit, and I also found out when I'm late with my payment, I am not charged a 75% late fee, Thank You UHaul, and no thank you 10 federal !!
